Revealed less than a week ago, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is already breaking franchise records as its reveal trailer is now the most viewed trailer on Call of Duty YouTube channel. Hype for Modern Warfare 4 is clearly growing, as expectations for this year's entry are high after a two-year stretch of low points in the series.
On May 28, 2026, Infinity Ward finally pulled back the curtain on the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise, returns to the ongoing Task Force 141 story with Modern Warfare 4, except this time, a massive global conflict has erupted after North Korea's invasion of South Korea. So far, fan reception has been positive, with many fans enjoying the tone and atmosphere of the reveal, and also excited about Modern Warfare 4s upcoming showdown between Captain Price and Ghost. Not to mention that this year's entry in the franchise is special, considering it's the first Call of Duty to launch day and date on a Nintendo console since 2013 Call of Duty: Ghosts.

With plenty to be excited about, it seems fans have started to take notice and have already seen Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4s reveal trailer over 50 million times in three days, making it the most viewed trailer for it Call of Duty channel. At the time of writing, Modern Warfare 4 stands at 53 million views, while the two runners-up are Black Ops 7 with 49 million views and Endless warfare with 47 million views. Endless warfare itself is an interesting story, as it reached the high number of views not due to fan hype but fan displeasure, and quickly became one of the most disliked videos on YouTube as dislike brigades flooded the trailer for days after its reveal.

However, Modern Warfare 4 doesn't seem to follow the same path. Many fans online say they are looking forward to the game and that the community is hungry for a good one Call of Duty entry after error step Black Ops 7 took last year and Modern Warfare 3 dropped the ball the year before. But there are a number of people who claim that not all of these views are legitimate. Some claim that Call of Duty has botted views on its reveal trailers for a number of years and for which the ad autoplays Modern Warfare 4 is also counted in the total number of views, making this record-breaking achievement less impressive. It is worth noting that none of these claims have been proven to be true.
Regardless of the circumstances, Modern Warfare 4 has still racked up a massive number of views for its reveal trailer, no matter how anyone spins it. Right now it sits right behind Battlefield 1s reveal trailer and front Pokemon Gos reveal trailer in terms of views, putting it in good company among some of the biggest games in the industry. Although it is so impressive, MW4s reveal trailer still lags significantly behind some of the most anticipated games of all time, like the insane 280 million views that GTA 6 received its first reveal trailer.
