The Boruto: Two Blue Vortex the series has been absolutely incredible so far, and fans have loved all the major developments surrounding the main character. Boruto Uzumaki has become an incredibly exciting protagonist, and fans can't wait to see how he develops as a ninja in the story. Of course, with all the main roles of ninjas that evolve in Boruto series, comparisons with the old generation are a given. Boruto has a very talented generation of ninjasand as is usually the case with Naruto, the new generation is about to surpass the old.
Even when it matters a prodigy like Itachi Uchiha, fans know for a fact that even he has been surpassed in the sequel series by none other than the protagonist, Boruto Uzumaki. While Itachi was hailed as a massive, once-in-a-generation genius, Boruto Uzumaki has surpassed him when it comes to being a genius, and it's only a matter of time before Boruto establishes itself as one of the greatest ninja marvels of all time.
Boruto Uzumaki is a bigger prodigy than Itachi Uchiha
Boruto Uzumaki has always been the complete opposite of Naruto Uzumaki. While Naruto Uzumaki was born with little to no talent, Boruto Uzumaki was the opposite. Fans know that Boruto has tremendous talent as a ninja from a very young age. In fact, Boruto even mastered three natures in the academy, which is simply unheard of. Boruto Uzumaki is a monster when it comes to learning applications of chakra as well. For example, as a pure Genin, Boruto learned how to create the Vanishing Rasengan, which is a advanced Jutsu that requires the application of Nature Transformation to the Rasengan.

He even master the use of Karma to some extent, and now, in Two Blue Vortex, he is a monster that can fight the likes of Otsutsuki. Clearly, Boruto Uzumaki is a generational talent. As an adult ninja, Boruto has learned Jutsu like Rasengan Uzuhikoand he's even created his own version of the Flying Thunder God, though he's inferior. His combat prowess is also incredible, as is his foresight as a ninja. In every possible way, Boruto Uzumaki is a bigger prodigy than Itachiand that's what makes him special to Konoha.
Boruto has created his own Jutsu
It cannot be denied Itachi was also a geniusand that he possesses much higher wisdom than Boruto. But wisdom aside, and specifically when it comes to combat and ninjutsu, Boruto Uzumaki is a bigger prodigy. Boruto has invented Jutsu who can defeat almost anyone, like Uzuhiko and he managed to master all of Sasuke's Jutsu in a year. Boruto cannot be surpassed when it comes to ninjutsu. Furthermore, he continues to grow at an unstoppable rate, and fans know that his ceiling is much higher than Itachi Uchiha.

Boruto Uzumaki is Otsutsuki level
Boruto's powers have grown so dramatically that he is easily an Otsutsuki Level ninja right now. Fans know that he is strong enough to defeat the likes of Kinshiki himself and compete with Momoshiki or Isshiki. He is the savior of the world, and doing all that at a very young age makes him a greater prodigy than Itachi.
Boruto is a ninja who protects against the shadows like Itachi
All the comparisons to Itachi come from absolutely nothing for Boruto Uzumaki. Fans know that Boruto is just like him when it comes to ninja ideology. Boruto is a disgraced ninja who takes all the blame for the sake of the village and protects them from the shadows. This is the same as Itachi Uchiha. Both Boruto and Itachi are incredibly powerful shinobibut even in their ideology they are quite similar, and that is what makes them different.
Of course, Boruto can be a bigger fighting prodigy than Itachi but Itachi has much more wisdom which matters less at the end of the day. They are both crucial parts of Konoha's history and that is what makes them beloved.
