Insomniac's Wolverine Game is getting an encouraging update

As the season of gaming showcases begins to roll in, the audience patiently waits for new updates Marvel's Wolverinewhich has shared a release date but still isn't offering any pre-orders. Developer Insomniac Games has previously teased that more information about Marvel's Wolverine was supposed to arrive in the spring, and some players have become worried, as March has passed and April is coming to an end, leaving May as the last spring month for news to drop. Fortunately, Insomniac had finally shared a follow-up statement that clarified it more Wolverine reveals are still on the way to spring, perhaps indicating a big announcement is coming soon.

Audiences have a number of video game shows to enjoy throughout the year, but the transition from spring to summer often marks the biggest period for big announcements for both indie and AAA studios. This is largely attributed to Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest, which has become the industry substitute for E3, and has seen other major players like Xbox, Sony and even Nintendo release their own presentations around the same time for added hype. Given Insomniac's latest tease for Marvel's Wolverine to arrive in the spring, fans may be able to narrow down exactly when the next big reveal will be released.

PlayStation 5 Wolverine Exclusive PC Port

If you want to play Wolverine, you'll probably have to buy a PS5 – Sony might be pulling back on its PC ports

According to the latest rumors from an industry insider, those hoping to play Marvel's Wolverine on PC may be in luck.

Insomniac confirms when a new Wolverine update is coming

Rumors about the next PlayStation State of Play that focus on Marvel's Wolverine seems to hold more water, as Insomniac's insistence that more news about the game will be shared in the spring is consistent with previous years' May Sony showcases. Whether such a State of Play would focus entirely on Wolverine or whether that would include other titles remains to be seen, but May being the last spring month for Insomniac to keep its word on more game information while also being a month that historically features a Sony presentation could be a solid indication that more Marvel's Wolverine news will come before June. The PS5 has at least a dozen other major titles releasing in May, including LEGO Batman and 007 First light at the end of the month, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Sony release a full status that includes a big one Wolverine feature.

The big question then becomes what exactly Insomniac plans to show, if the studio is in fact waiting for a State of Play to earn more Marvel's Wolverine details. Given that the game can currently only be on the PS5 wishlist, perhaps Insomniac is planning to open pre-orders for Marvel's Wolverine as a “shadow drop” during the showcase. Of course, this is pure speculation, but the potential for a massive Wolverine reveal, such as pre-order or special edition bonuses, would be a perfect match for a major state that also hits Insomniac's spring deadline.

If Marvel's Wolverine can achieve the same level of success as Insomniacs Spider-Man game, then Sony could have a contender for Game of the Year, which also lends some credibility to PlayStation who might want some pre-orders or other big news to drop during a State of Play. Interested fans can stay tuned for any official word on when exactly Insomniac will share its spring update Marvel's Wolverineas well as any news about when the next State of Play is coming.
