A canceled God of War Multiplayer game would have been set in Ancient Greece
Images shared with the MP1ST have recently revealed some interesting details about the set God of war live service games. The 23 images shared with the media seem to indicate that the game could have returned God of war franchise to a Greek setting, as temples and artifacts clearly inspired by the region appear in the screenshots. In some images, it is possible to see temple interiors, caves with huge pools of sulfur and other environments, all of which appear very large, which will likely accommodate multiplayer action.
An interesting highlight was a location described by MP1ST as “Hades' Armory.” While it is unknown if Hades would actually feature in the canceled game, the images seem to indicate that the location would be important, as it can be seen in two different states. In one, the area looks normal, while in the other “cursed” state, a red corrosion appears to have taken over the area, which could be some kind of game mechanic. Unfortunately with the multiplayer God of war The project was canceled, all players can do is speculate.
Despite this cancellation, several God of war game appears to be in development. A recent rumor has indicated that a God of war For example, the 2.5D Metroidvania could come in 2026, which would have Kratos' brother, Deimos, as the protagonist.
Most players will likely be eager to learn more about the next mainline entry in the God of war series though. Recent rumors have indicated that the next main line God of war can take place in Egypt. Fans have been excited to see the franchise go to Egypt for a while, and Santa Monica Studio even had plans to put God of war in the Mediterranean country before, which lends some credibility to the rumours. According to one of the rumors, Kratos will use a curved Egyptian sword in the game, which may look like a scimitar or a kopesh. Obviously, none of this information is confirmed, so players should take it with a grain of salt.
