Was released to early asset in early 2025, Hyper Light Breaker is the long -awaited follow -up of Hyper Light Drifter. Multiplayer Roguelite game has been busy since then, with a steady range of updates that are often run by the passionate feedback from Heart Machine fans. Although several updates have made some welcome improvements, no one is as sweeping and influencing as its upcoming update entitled “Buried below”, which will arrive on April 29. Buried below will make major changes in the Roguelite Run structure, introduce a new guidance for smoother on board and bring a new playable character to enjoy and a crown boss to fight with.
In a trailer that is provided exclusively for Game Rant, Heart Machine shows off the terrible new crown, Maw, which is undoubtedly the biggest challenge Hyper Light Breaker Players will have met so far. With new weapons, characters and updated mechanics to play with, MAW also serves as an ideal test site for all fresh toys at the disposal.
Hyper Light Breaker's Maw is its biggest boss than
MAW makes its magnificent entrance flying from the edge of the arena and slams in the ground, immediately ready to finish the runs on all switches in the hope of knocking out another penny. MAW turns out to have a mixture of melee and varied attacks, which does not leave anywhere safe for switches to rest during the fight. Slam attacks with its gigantic claws, a devastating beam-like fire adoption and a hail of overhead projectiles are some of the obstacles that players will have to overcome when handling this gigantic opponent. Game Rant spoke to lead producer Michael Clark about this new manager, who says:
“MAW is unlike our other kronor – I think she herself is bigger than the entire church's arena that Dro's fight takes place in. Our other kronor Tower over the player, but is still just characters moving through an arena – MAW does not move around the arena – she tower over it and is enough to attack the player.”
While all Hyper Light BreakerKronor is significant enemies, MAW Dwarves them absolutely. Clark pointed out that she is even bigger than the arena Dro occupies, and this presents some new challenges for players. Instead of chasing down a flexible manager as a dro, players will fight an enemy that dominates and controls the entire arena all the time. A significant prey from Hyper Light DrifterMAW's first role of crowns is an example of how the heart machine has no lack of content to deliver when this early access phase presses further.
