How to prevent Morden's escape
Like most roguelites, Metal Slug Tactics is an endless cycle. The Peregrine Falcons fight their way to Sirocco City and destroy the Jupiter King, only for Morden to let out a villainous laugh and flee. Everyone returns to HQ and the battle begins again.

Of course, it's not very satisfying for the villain to get away every time. If only there was a way to stop him from escaping after the Jupiter King boss battle. You're in luck, because with several runs of preparation, you can do just that.
How to prevent Morden's escape
Morden trusts his three generals – Abbas, Paqar and O'Neill – to facilitate his escape. As long as at least one of them is still on the loose at the end of a run, you won't be able to unlock the true ending. Therefore, your first step is pull out each of the generals, one by one, on separate runs.
You must defeat Morden at least once and let him escape to start this chain of events.
In the first region you visit on a run, make sure to complete the mission with the medal reward. These quests are generally more difficult, but completing them will provide a clue to the whereabouts of one of the generals. Since you need to search multiple regions, it's important to remember that if you're hunting a specific general, you must start in one region other than their home countryas follows:

If you are eligible to continue the search for a general, you will see Rebel army symbol on the next region you need to visit on the world map. You must visit that region next and complete its medal objective to continue the plot, otherwise you must try again on your next run.
If you reach the third region after completing both medal objectives in the previous two, a general will appear. To defeat them counts as one of your three missions before the War Machine boss appearswhich means you have to fight both the general and the war machine.

Here's what you need to do during the final sequence to unlock the Dragon's Dogma 2 true final ending.
True Ending Run
Once you've defeated all three generals on separate runs, you'll be able to try fight everyone in the same campaign. When you start a new run, look for the Rebel Army Symbol on the world map. Go to the highlighted region and fight the general waiting thereas before. Once you beat them and take out the war machine, repeat the process in the other two regions.
If you survive all three regions after defeating Abbas, Big Shiee, O'Neill, Aeshi Nero, Paqar and Dragon Nosuke all in the same race, continue to Sirocco City and fight Morden as usual. After his second phase, when he would normally run away, comes the boss battle instead proceed to a third phase.
The final battle against Morden's Jupiter King takes place on an L-shaped map, which can make maneuvering difficult. Characters with Parkour Passives and teleport skills will have a much easier time dodging the exorbitant number of lasers and taking cover from the supporting fire of O'Neill's minigun.
Just like the second phase, you get one full healing and an ammo refresh at the beginning of the third phase, but you get no more reinforcements than you entered with. If you've made it this far, your team is probably up to the task; stick to the strategy that got you to the final battle. Once you defeat the Jupiter King for the third and final time, you'll get the true ending and the achievement/trophy that comes with it.
