How to unlock Bulbasaur's Jump Rope Trophy in Pokemon Pokopia

Pokemon Pokopia is gearing up for its Sableye event, but before that, there's one more event you won't want to miss. The Bulbasaur Jump Rope Contest is a limited-time event where you will be able to jump rope with Bulbasaur to earn various rewards, including an exclusive trophy.

The competition will only be available for a limited time, with no guarantee that it will return, so if you hope to enter you will need to make sure you log in at least once during the event. Thankfully, you can unlock all the rewards in a single play session, so even if you have limited time to play, it should be easy enough to make sure you don't miss out.

When does Bulbasaur's jump rope competition end

Bulbasaur tells Ditto how many days are left until the jump rope event in Pokemon Pokopia.

Bulbasaur's Jump Rope Contest will be run from April 19, 2026 at 05.00 to 26 April 2026 at 04.59. Since Pokopia runs on an internal clock, the event will be attached to local timeso you don't have to worry about taking time zones into account.

While you're in the game, you can too check with Bulbasaur to see how many days are left in the event by asking them.

This also means you can skip time to attend the event. That said, this may have undetermined consequences that players are currently unaware of, so do so at your own risk.

You will do it must have completed the “Yawn Up a Storm” quest in the Withered Wasteland for this event to trigger.

How to complete Bulbasaur's Jump Rope Contest

Ditto gets ready to jump rope in Pokemon Pokopia.

As long as your Switch 2 is set to the time and date specified for the event, you should see Bulbasaur hanging around the Pokemon Center as soon as you open Pokopia. No matter what zone you are in, Bulbasaur will spawn in front of that zone's Pokemon Center with a speech bubble saying they want to start a contest. If Bulbasaur doesn't mention anything, try talking to Professor Tangrowth as well.

Talk to Bulbasaur and they'll tell you about a jump rope competition going on and explain some of the rules to you. Ultimately, the competition involves playing jump rope with Bulbasaur and trying to reach a specific score to earn a specific reward. You can also invite friends to play and compete against each other.

If you are playing on another player's islandyou will be able to get your points ranked among each other, but only the host will earn rewards for their jump points. Alternatively if you play on a cloud island, the highest scoring player will earn the rewards.

To enter, tell Bulbasaur you want to enter the competition and the jump rope mini-game will begin. Bulbasaur won't tell you the rewards upfront, but essentially you'll get a reward for every 5-10 jumpsand the rewards will increase in value as the number of jumps increases. That said, there is a cap on the rewards.

When you miss a jump, the game will endand you will be rewarded based on the jumps you reached. Bulbasaur will immediately ask if you want to try again, which you can either do immediately or offer to play later. To complete the event, you'll want to complete at least 141 jumps in a single attempt, which will earn you all available rewards.

How to jump rope

So you probably want to know what the trick is to get such a high score, and it's pretty simple. During the minigame, the only button you need to press is the jump button. Depending on your settings, this will either be the B button or the R buttonwhich, if you are not already aware of it, can change in the settings.

With that said, the hardest part of the competition is timing your jumps. For the first 10 or so jumps, Bulbasaur will actually try to help tip you off when to jump by making a sound, but you can honestly ignore it. Instead, listen to the sound of the jump rope itself. It will make two distinct sounds.

The first sound is a bit of a whoosh sound, and the second is the sound of the rope hitting the ground. When you hear the second sound, press the button. You can try playing by just looking at the rope, but listening to the beeps is more likely to ensure you don't miss a jump, especially when the tempo changes.

Bulbasaur will often shake things up on you by changing the pace. You will see this indicated by an exclamation point above the headbut try to stay focused as much as you can. The pace will change about every 10 jumps.

Also, it's a bit annoying, though Pokemon in the area will come to see you jump and can sometimes get way too close, which can be incredibly distracting. Do your best to ignore them, and maybe even complete the event in the zone that has the lowest number of Pokemon living near the local Pokemon Center. The Pokemon Center does not need to be rebuilt to spawn Bulbasaur.

All rewards for the Jump Rope Contest

Bulbasaur celebrates next to a trophy in Pokemon Pokopia.

Although you can enter the Jump Rope Contest as many times as you like, you will only earn each level reward once. So, if you reach 15 jumps on your first attempt and earn a reward, but reach 25 jumps on your next turn, you will only collect the reward for completing 20 jumps, as you have already collected the reward for 11 jumps on your previous attempt.

As said, you can unlock more than one reward in a single attempt. If you are unsure if there are any rewards left, listen to what Bulbasaur tells you while playing the game. If Bulbasaur makes a statement that you have nothing left to give you, then you have earned all available rewards for this jump rope competition.

With that in mind, if you manage to reach 141+ jumps on your first attempt, you'll unlock all the rewards at once and won't be able to earn more on any subsequent attempt. Once you've unlocked the fifth Rare Poke Metal Ingot reward, for a total of 50 Rare Poke Metal Ingots, you won't be able to earn any moreregardless of how high your grade is.

Players view their Jump Rope Contest Trophy in Pokemon Pokopia.

The trophy will be earned on whichever attempt you manage to clear 51 jumps, and the trophy will reflect the total score for that attempt. This means that if you only reach 52 jumps on that attempt, your trophy will have a record of 52 jumps permanently listed on it.

So, if you want a high record on your trophy, you must reach it on the same attempt you unlocked it.

With that in mind, here are all the rewards you can earn:
