How to get and drink water

How to create the simple cleaner

The Simple Purifier, like the Empty Cup, is available from the start. All you need to create a simple cleaner is 6x plank, 6x palm leaves, and 4x plasticand these materials are easy to collect by fishing them as they float past your raft.

Simple Purifier uses one basic distillation process to convert salt water in fresh water, so you have to fill it with plankswhich burns to produce the necessary heat. It can handle a cup of salt water at a time, gives you a cup of drinkable water in return.

How to create the advanced cleaner

Advanced Purifier is one serious upgrade of Simple Purifiersaves you the trouble of constantly burning planks. The uses direct sunlight to distill waterproduces up to five cups of fresh waterperfect for staying hydrated without all the micro-managing.

Before crafting it, you must unlock its recipe at the research table. Submit one Plank, Plasticand Glass to do it. Once unlocked, collect 8x planks, 6x plastic and 4x glass (melted from sand in a smelter) to build this handy cleaner.

How to make the electric cleaner

The electric purifier is the pinnacle of water purification, offers an automated process to keep you hydrated effortlessly. It's not something you can rush into, though, because it requires a substantial number of advanced materials which you will begin to encounter after one a lot of progress in the story.

First you need Electric Cleaner Blueprintwhich you can find in Tangaroa. Once you have it, you will be be able to unlock their recipe at the research table by submitting the following:
