Argos is the first Pantheon 2.0 boss you'll face in Calus Resplendent, and he's also one of the easiest to beat. This mainly comes from the fact that you can cheese him by immediately skipping the setup and going straight into the damage phase for a nice one phase free!

How to instantly start the damage phase on Argos in Destiny 2

When you spawn into the Argos encounter, you'll want to destroy three of the four Vex nodes protruding from Argos. You'll have to leave the last one for now, as Argos activates when you shoot it, and if you do, you won't be able to skip the damage without a wipe.

When Argos has one node left to shoot, turn around and jump off the cliff onto a nearby ledge. When you're low enough (as shown in the location from the image above), you can jump up to launch the node into the air and land safely on the ledge.

When Argos spawns in via his mini-cutscene, you should get the text “Joining Allies”. When the timer reaches zero, you will spawn back to the platform aboveand Argos' shields will be loweredwhich allows you to dash towards him and start the DPS phase by destroying two of his open wounds.

Sometimes Argo's shield doesn't lower after joining allies. If this happens, try to emote during the countdown, or return to orbit and try again, as the instance may need to be reset.
