How to get the needle skill in Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6 rewards players with various skills for doing certain actions while exploring the open world or participating in races and events. These can range from things like drifting or consistently driving at high speed, to driving into oncoming traffic, performing burnouts and changing colors with other drivers. Threading the needle is one of the less obvious skills in terms of how it is earned Forza Horizon 6. The game doesn't really explain what it is, so if you're not familiar with it from previous entries in the series, you may have trouble earning it for Horizon Season challenges.

How to get the needle skill in Forza Horizon 6

The 'Threading the Needle' skill is obtained by driving between two nearby NPC cars without touching either of them. In other words, you want the cars to be about 5-10 meters apart and drive through that gap. This can be done between cars driving in the same direction as you or driving into oncoming traffic. I've usually found it easier to do it on the same side of the road as the direction you're traveling.

The easiest way to get the “Training the Needle” skill is to head to the highways that run around the perimeter of the main island of Japan. They have plenty of cars to drive between, and the multiple lanes give plenty of room to find gaps between cars.

The multiple lanes also have the added benefit of allowing you to drive diagonally between two cars. These spaces are usually a bit larger compared to the ones you find when two cars drive side by side in two lanes. It may seem like a minor difference, but it can make all the difference, especially if you're trying to get the Threading the Needle skill with a bigger car.

For the Seasonal Challenge “Mini in the Middle” which is currently active at the time of writing, you need to get the “Thread the Needle” skill with any Mini Cooper. I recommend using the 2012 John Cooper Works GP to complete this challenge, as it is the fastest of the three on typical roads. This can be handy for getting through particularly tight gaps, but remember that none of the Minis are particularly fast. The

The X-Raid All4 Racing Countryman may have the bigger engine, but it has a lower speed stat and is more of a rally vehicle than one for the highways you'll best tackle this challenge on.

Keep in mind that other skill-based “Thread the Needle” challenges may require you to use other vehicles. Always choose the vehicle that meets the requirements of the challenge and has good handling so that you can safely drive through the hatch without touching any of the vehicles.
