Horizon: Zero Dawn is widely considered to be one of the most visually impressive games to hit a PlayStation console, so many fans are eager to see how Guerrilla Games can up the ante on their flagship series in the remaster. The game features a vast, open map filled with gorgeous scenery and an abundance of beautiful yet terrifying machines to battle or befriend.
While there's a charm to exploring all that's on offer on foot, many players will benefit from having the ability to move from one point on the game's massive map to another in quick succession. So a knowledge of how to quickly enter Horizon: Zero Dawn can really improve the experience.

Story-Heavy game to play if you love The Horizon Franchise
Horizon: Zero Dawn and its sequel's story was one of its strongest aspects. These story-heavy games are equally compelling in that regard.
How to fast travel in Horizon: Zero Dawn
Fast travel in Horizon: Zero Dawn carried out via Campfireswhich are scattered across the game's huge map. They are abundant all over the world, but you must first discover them before you can reap their benefits. To unlock a campfire, players simply need to approach it. Once unlocked, you have the option to fast travel to that location, or when you're standing by the campfire itself, you can save your progress and make it a checkpoint in case you die.
Fast travel can also be done to any settlement, provided Aloy has discovered it by entering it. You can quickly travel to any settlement or campfire by opening the map, hovering over the desired destination and pressing the Travel (R2) button, which appears at the bottom of the map. However, the plot is not free, as players must have a Fast Travel Pack on hand.
How to get fast travel packages
There are a number of ways players can get their hands on Fast Travel Packs, but they are by crafting them or picking them up as loot. Crafting one yourself is the most accessible way to obtain another pack and can be done by opening the Crafting menu and navigating to the Travels section. To create a Fast Travel Pack, players need the following materials:
- 15 Ridge-Wood – these can be harvested by approaching small, leafless trees all over the world.
- A fatty meat
- One Bony Meat – both types of meat can be found by harvesting wild animals. Look out for animals like boars, turkeys or foxes, as they will have what you need.
Alternatively, players can also loot fast travel packages or purchase them from vendors. They are often found in supply caches or as rewards for completing quests, but can be purchased for two Metal Shards, 15 Ridge-Wood and one Rich Meat from most merchants.
How to get a Golden Fast Travel Pack
As an alternative to constantly crafting, finding or buying fast travel packs, players can also choose to buy a golden fast travel pack. This will allow unlimited use of Fast Travel, removing the need for players to continuously track how many they have in stock. Although not available early in the story, you don't have to go too deep into the story to get your hands on one.
To obtain a Golden Fast Travel Pack, players must purchase it from a specific vendor. While there may be others you can buy it from, the easiest place to get one is through the hunting supply dealer in Meridian. Under the Resources section of his shop, you'll find this very rare item at the bottom of the list. Considering how valuable it is, the Golden Fast Travel package isn't cheap, but well worth it. To buy one, you need the following:
- 50 metal shards
- A fox skin
- 10 Fatty meat
Once purchased, all you have to worry about is making sure your desired destination has already been discovered, making getting from one side of the map to the other much easier.
