Once you figure out how to craft and use a katana, there are only a few enemies left in the game that can directly challenge you.
How to Craft a Katana in the Sengoku Dynasty
There is three different types of katanas in this game; each katana requires you to complete a specific task in the game unlock its recipes before you can create it. Note that you can too acquire katanas by defeating enemiesbut the weapons you pick up from your enemies are far less durable than those you create yourself.

You will need build a forge to craft a katana, which becomes available for crafting after acquiring iron ore. Note that the bronze katana can also be crafted on a workshop table if you've unlocked the recipe. The other two types of katanas can only be made in a smithy or a smithy.
Once you've unlocked the recipe and have the necessary materials to craft a katana, head over to forge inside a forge. If you select the crafting option at a forge, it will open a menu where you must select the katana option. If you open the katana section of the crafting menu you can choose one of the three katanas to craft.
