How long to beat in Saros

Saros is House marques latest game, which adopts the style of play Return with a new world, story and a large cast of characters. This third-person roguelite shooter introduces new mechanics, weapons, and multiple biomes that players can spend time exploring from one corner to the other.

Although the number of biomes and bosses might lead one to assume it's longer than Returnthis is not the case, as the main story takes about 10 to 15 hours. In the guide below, we'll go over how long players can expect it to take to reach 100% completion, as well as provide more information about the biome in Saros.

Saro's review

Housemarque follows up Returnal with the PS5-exclusive Saros, another wildly entertaining and action-packed third-person shooter.

Main 15 – 18 hours:

The main story about Saros follows a linear path where the game directs you to visit a specific biome and complete it to make further progress and unlock new objectives. Unlike Returnthere are several instances where the game makes you return to Passage, which serves as the main hub where you can upgrade your suit and use Primary to fast travel to different biomes.

Difficulty: There is no option in Saros to change the difficulty level from one level to another. However, this does not mean that the game cannot be made easier or more challenging. Firstly, because of upgrades from Armor matrixplayers can gain permanent stat and attribute upgrades, as well as other benefits such as starting a run with an extra Carcosan keywhich increases the chance of Ether lose, or even gain one Second chance.

The main thing in Saros that completely changes the game is Carcosan Modifiersand enabling the trials can make the game more challenging, which in turn can increase the game length as each biome will take longer to complete. On the other hand, Protection modifiers make the game easier, increasing your damage, skill level and more.

100% completion = 25 – 30 hours minimum:

100% completion depends more on the player than the game. If you're aiming for Platinum, you don't need to worry too much about the collectibles. There are over 150 collectibles in the game, including audio logs, text logs, and holologies.

Since the environments are largely randomized and you can get a few possible textures, finding collectibles depends more on finding them than searching for them in specific locations. Some collectibles are restricted to certain side paths or hidden behind yellow barriers, but you can always get these in another run when you unlock the ability to access them.

Platinum for the game requires finding and complete all Nightmare Strands at least oncewhich is a fairly simple task, along with other challenges such as defeating enemies with a certain weapon in a specific way or completing a biome without taking damage.

Despite their trophy descriptions, none of these are hard to come by, and once you complete the game you can track them down one by one and should be able to get the Platinum, as well as all the collectibles, within 30 hours. If you have Trial Modifiers enabled, then you can expect another 5 to 10 hours.

How many biomes are there in Saros?

Players interested in if the game has more biomes than Return will be exciting to learn it there are 8 biomes. However, due to the short length of the game, none of the biomes are very large, and you should be able to complete a biome in about 30 minutes. This number drops as you get more upgrades, and the biome will feel even shorter. Here are the names of all the biomes you will explore in Carcosa:

  • Shattered Rise
  • Ancient depths
  • Shattered Descent
  • Corrupted Marsh
  • Infamous fortress
  • Acolyte's Haven
  • Cathedral
  • Yellow beach
