Bowie knife99 has some tough competition right now in Forza Horizon 6, as players are now encountering a bug that completely erases saved game progress.
As reported by IGN, the support team is aware of the issue and is “actively developing platform updates […] to help improve these issues.” It's unclear at this time what's causing these progress removals, but for now, the team recommends taking the following precautions:
-
Xbox Series X/S players: manually disable Quick Resume for Forza Horizon 6.
-
Always exit online: make sure you are fully connected to the internet when you close the game, so that the cloud data can complete the synchronization.
-
Don't rush the shutdown: give your PC or console a few minutes after a session before shutting down the hardware or forcing to Steam.
-
Never force quit: avoid quitting during active gameplay or when a save screen is visible.
“Before shutting down your console, shutting down your PC, or force-closing the Steam app, give your devices or clients at least a few minutes to ensure your recent progress has synced to the cloud,” the team said. “This will reduce the risk of progress being returned when switching between platforms. Xbox Series X/S consoles, Steam and the Xbox app on PC all include save game indicators that confirm your progress has been synced.”
Outside of official advice, the Forza community has formulated its own theories. A loose consensus among players cautions to temporarily avoid the 1993 Schuppan 962CR, 2003 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000QV, 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, and 2020 S For Wuling Edition, and sharing designs include them, and sharing. apply paints and decals.
Do not start a new session if your progress has been deleted
If you have already been affected by the bug, the support team asks you to open a ticket on the Forza support website; It is recommended that you submit the case on the same day as the reset, and that you do not create a new session or save until your case is first reviewed.
“This will allow the team to investigate your case and attempt to restore your save profile by restoring your progress to a previous save,” the team explained. “We strongly recommend that you submit your ticket the same day the problem occurs to increase the chances of recovery.”
A fix is already rolling out on PC, and a system update is scheduled to target the issue on Xbox Series X/S later today.
