Forza Horizon 6 is reportedly a big seller for Xbox

If you're currently playing Forza Horizon 6, consider yourself part of the minority. The latest title from Playground Games is still in Early Access via its Premium Edition, but over 1.2 million have reportedly shelled out $119.99 or their country's local equivalent to play the game early.

So much so that Xbox can make around $140 million in sales before the game has even reached its full release date.

As first reported by Insider Gaming, data from another player indicates that over 1.2 million players are actively engaged in the game. To play the game, they would have had to pay over $119.99, or in some cases, whatever the difference, via Game Pass Ultimate.

The neon streets of Tokyo, snowy mountain roads and endlessly satisfying driving make Forza Horizon 6 the strongest entry in the series to date.

That $140 million figure assumes everyone pays that much, and even if they don't, the final figure is likely somewhere in the neighborhood. Additionally, the title will get a new feel when it launches on PlayStation 5 sometime in 2026.

With Xbox continuing to ponder whether a return to exclusivity should be its defining brand as it begins to roll out Project Helix, its next-gen console, it's clear that titles like Forza will simply make more the more widely available.

Forza Horizon 6 fans really love the title

Already the highest-rated game of 2026 and one of the most well-received Forza titles, Horizon 6 took things a step further by becoming the most played racer on Steam, beating the likes of F1, Need for Speed and previous Forza titles.

Again, and we can't stress this enough, the title is still not quite out yet. There's a good chance it will double that figure on May 19, when the full title launches.

Elsewhere, those who have played the game have had a great time. There are those who have used the colors to create all sorts of fancy decals, including full scale replicas of Lightning McQueen and Optimus Prime. Others spotted a neat reference to Pokemon hidden in the world.

Forza Horizon has long been a well-received franchise, arguably kicking off the trend of “festival” racers. But it's clear that the move to Japan, along with next-generation advancements, puts Horizon 6 in a class of its own. In addition, apparently a wallet of its own as well.
