Sony's apparent avoidance of one Blood borne remasters is puzzling, but PlayStation's former head of India, Shuhei Yoshida, recently proposed a theory that could justify it. The beloved PlayStation boss has left Sony after 31 years of service and recently sat down with Kinda Funny Games to discuss his future plans. During the interview, Yoshida addressed fans' constant requests for one Blood borne remaster and offered a “personal theory” explaining why it hasn't happened yet. According to Yoshida, FromSoftware president and Blood borne director Hidetaka Miyazaki “really” loves the game and is interested in revisiting it.
Bloodborne Remaster might not have happened yet because Hidetaka Miyazaki is very busy
However, Yoshida believes that Miyazaki's busy schedule has not yet given him the opportunity to think Blood borneand that the FromSoftware executive “doesn't want anyone else touching it.” Therefore, the PlayStation team can simply respect Miyazaki's wish and wait to do anything with Blood borne until the FromSoftware manager is a little more released. While Yoshida's theory is definitely feasible, Miyazaki's previous comments about Blood borne the situation alludes to Sony having the upper hand. When Miyazaki was asked about the potential for a Blood borne remake last year, he expressed gratitude for the community's passion but strongly hinted that he didn't have the freedom to shine the light on the project himself.
It's no secret that Sony owns Blood borne IP and calling the shots regarding its future, which was most likely what Miyazaki was referring to. As a result, a Blood borne remaster can seemingly only happen if FromSoftware and Sony get back together. Unfortunately, it seems all too likely that this potential collaboration won't happen for a while, which means Blood borneThe 10th anniversary might just slip by with a whisper instead of a bang.
