More details and pictures for Persona 6 have leaked online, with the latest showing off a new character who will presumably act as a confidant to the player's character(s). As fans know, Confidants act as companions in battle and serve as the foundation for social game mechanics, among others Personas 4 and Persona 5 social links that are popular with fans. Its return is not a surprise at all, but an expectation at this point.
It's worth noting the timing of these leaks as well. Several major gaming events are about to take place, from Summer Game Fest to the Xbox Games Showcase, and it looks like fans will be watching Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6 at one of them. Of course, Persona 4 Revival likely to release first, with Persona 6 will be released later, but a proper trailer and teaser wouldn't be surprising at this point.

The new familiar character appears to be nicknamed “Sam” based on the leak, likely shorthand or a nickname for a real name, but it's unknown at this time. The image shows a female character who has long, dull blue hair, wearing two outfits: a black dress with a black bow, and an outfit with black high-waisted pants, a sort of black corset, and a blue denim jacket. She appears to be older than average Persona high school student, suggesting that she may be a typical upperclassman or simply the oldest member of the group, if not a more extended supporting character.

While everyone Persona 6 rumors and leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, what is worth noting is that this image was independently leaked online and then supported/confirmed by famous Persona the leaker Lolilolaio. They mentioned how it was overlooked due to recent leaks of the main character, but said it was “funny that no one paid attention to this one. They should.”
Of course, a familiar leak is super interesting because it can give fans a look at a character they'll be spending a lot of time with, but at the same time, it's hard to ignore the main character leak. In short, a recent one Persona 6 protagonist leak gave fans actual photos of the two main characters: a boy and a girl, the former with blonde hair and the latter with black and red hair. It's uncertain if this is a dual protagonist situation, although that seems more likely, or a gender selection situation, but it's an exciting prospect either way.

Neither Sega nor Atlus have commented on these latest leaks, and neither company is likely to before the proper reveal. And while these may be early leaks, the timing is unlikely to be a coincidence. Maybe fans will get their first look at the Xbox Games Showcase or one of the other events coming soon, if not, but hopefully they will – fans have been waiting for Persona 6 for a long, long time.
