During a recent shareholders meeting, Square Enix responded to a question about a potential Switch 2 port of Final Fantasy 15 by saying it's “under consideration” and not “impossible.”
While the jury is still out on whether Nintendo has really brought its exclusive A-game to the Switch 2, you can't deny that the console's third-party support has been pretty amazing so far. Square Enix has arguably been one of the biggest contributors over the past year, notably bringing the massive Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth to the console.
These two games in particular have made it clear that Square Enix can port most of their massive games to the Switch 2, leaving everyone wondering where their favorites are. Final Fantasy 15, the best game in the series for Nomura lovers like me, is a game many would love to see on the Switch 2, and it's something Square is actually looking at.
Square Enix Says It's Not 'Impossible' For Final Fantasy 15 To Get A Switch 2 Port
Whether it means that or is just saying what we want to hear is up to you
As pointed out by Final Weapon, Square Enix was asked about a potential Final Fantasy 15 port to the Switch 2 during a recent owners meeting. While some have reported that the question was actually about a remake or port of Final Fantasy 15 for original Switch, others are reporting that it was actually a port along the lines of what happened with Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is far from perfect on Nintendo Switch 2
The Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sadly lacks its predecessor.
Given how massive FF15 is, though, that surely speaks to the Switch 2 and not the original. However, Square Enix responded that there are “certain hardware limitations” but that it is not “completely impossible” with the current hardware and even “under consideration”. There are two ways you can take this answer, and they depend entirely on how positive you want to be about it.
On one hand, Square could be upfront here and say that a port of Final Fantasy 15 is something the team is considering with the success of FF7 on Switch 2. On the other hand, it could just be waving it off as a possibility, but not something the team is actually thinking about right now.
At the moment, it's not entirely clear where Square stands with a port of Final Fantasy 15, but I'd like to think that the massive success of both Remake and Rebirth shows that players are interested. After all, the original Switch only got the sweet demake Pocket Edition, so there's clearly a market of gamers who never experienced the true messy top.
