Microsoft Insider Jez Corden has explained that Fallout 3 remake may appear on the Xbox Games Showcase as its release date may fall within the program's restrictions. Of course, Fall-out fans have been here before. It's hard not to give up hope afterwards Fall-out Season 2 came and went with nothing official about the rumored remakes of either Fallout 3 or New Vegasbut insiders like Corden have helped keep the flame alive.
Earlier, Corden discussed what he knew about both Fall-out remasters and The Elder Scrolls 6 on an episode of the Xbox Two Podcast and said they were all further out than fans thought. He explained that he expects the next one The Elder Scrollss game comes a year or two after the first Fall-out remasters, and that he expected one of them sometime in 2027. Likewise, this could mean that Fallout: New Vegas remasters may follow The Elder Scrolls 6as the latter could happen in 2028 or 2029 according to Corden.

Now Corden seems to believe – keyword believes – that Fallout 3 remaster may be at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase. Not only would that be exciting for fans of the franchise, but it would also see it release around this time next year. Pointed out by Corden himself, Xbox CCO Matt Booty recently confirmed that the Xbox Games Showcase will largely focus on games rwill be released within the next 12 months. He excludes Elder rolls 6 and Fallout 5 on this basis, but then says, “Maybe we could get a glimpse of the long-rumored Fallout 3 remake?” Given his sources, there would be no reason to suggest it was there unless he had reason to believe it would be released within 12 months or now, which also means within the first six months of 2027.

If so, that release date might suit fans perfectly. That's further away than they hoped, but it's not late 2027 or later, which is what many might have expected the last time Corden discussed the game. It bears repeating that this is more insight based on his sources and less solid claim, but considering this is CEO Asha Sharma's first Xbox Games Showcase, it wouldn't be surprising to see her give the green light to go hard. Otherwise, it Fallout 3 remasters can be shelved and kept out of the public eye for longer.
But remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas is basically Microsoft's worst kept secret. They're not nearly as leaky as, say, the recent disclosure of Assassin's Creed Black Flag resyncbut they are constant and consistent enough that most fans know it's happening, despite no official announcement.

An official announcement is exactly what fans need. There's obviously a lot going on with IP – Todd Howard recently discussed the early development stages of Fallout 5— But it's not like players are exactly patient. It's completely understandable and reasonable to want more than the current show, however good it is.
