Fall-out fans received a lot of good news recently after Bethesda confirmed that a Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters are in the works, and they need to be released as a package if Bethesda wants to make an even bigger splash. Not only that, but Bethesda also revealed that the pre-production on Fallout 5 has begun, and Obsidian Entertainment has been tasked with creating a new one Fall-out by-product. There are many exciting projects for Fall-out fans to look forward to now, and Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters will more than likely be the games that debut first.
There have been rumors of one Fallout 3 and New Vegas remaster for a long time, but Bethesda's infamous bout of silence since then Starfield launched left many longtime fans worried about what the studio has in the pipeline. Between no Fall-out game updates except Fallout 76 and even less news about The Elder Scrolls 6 since it was announced back in 2018, it looked like Bethesda was stuck in limbo. That dry spell is finally over, though, and many fans are now looking towards Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters.

Bethesda hasn't announced a release date for the remaster yet, but hopefully fans won't have to wait too long. Because remastering a game doesn't take as long as building a new one Fall-out game from scratch players will hopefully get to see Fallout 3 and New Vegas in a new and improved light within the next year or two. Only time will tell, but releasing the games as a bundle is key to getting the most out of the two remasters.

The Fall-out remaster news is a reason for longtime fans and newcomers alike to celebrate. There are many gamers who didn't jump into the series until they checked out the live action Fall-out show on Amazon Prime, and getting to experience remastered versions of these two entries will definitely be exciting for newer fans who tried to play the original games but were potentially put off by how dated they feel. RPGs have evolved a lot since then Fallout 3 and New Vegas debuted, and while many players still find them well worth the time, it may be harder to attract newer players, which is a large audience that Bethesda needs to attract if it wants to Fallout 5 to be as successful as possible after such a long break.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas are different enough for a bundle to work
Both titles are RPGs set in the same universe, but fans already know that each game offers a very different experience. Even just the setting makes the two feel incredibly distinct. Fallout 3's Capital Wasteland boasts the green-hued ruins of Washington DC and a showdown between the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave, while New Vegas' Titular city and the surrounding Mojave Desert give the story a Western edge complete with casinos and various factions fighting for control of the wasteland.
Obsidian Entertainment came up with the original New Vegas to life under Bethesda's leadership, but it's unclear whether or not the developer's secret spin-off will be a sequel. Although Obsidian is coming back to make one Fall-out the game is exciting news, to be assigned to this project also caused Avowed the sequel is canceled.
So there really wouldn't be any problem releasing two RPGs together in one package, since the stories and Fall-out wastelands they are located in are incredibly unique. It gives players the best of both worlds, and releasing the remasters as a package would be a simple but effective way to show thanks to fans after they patiently waited for a Fall-out release that is not one Fallout 76 update or a new version of Fallout 4.
In addition to a companion release, Bethesda must finally capitalize on the Fallout TV series
One of the most baffling aspects of Bethesda's game plan over the past few years is that the developer hasn't seemed eager to take advantage of Fall-out TV show and its strong success. Of course there was Fallout 76's Burning Springs update which added The Ghoul as a prize-giving NPC, and Fallout Shelter introduced a variety of characters. However, it is not enough.
Fans deserve something even more exciting to help satisfy Fall-out cravings when the show's next season arrives. A Fall-out The Season 3 release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but the timeline of the last two seasons could place it somewhere in Fall/Winter 2027. That's possibly enough time to get Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters ready. Even if the remasters don't hit a late 2027 target, a Q1 2028 release would still put it close enough to the TV series for Bethesda to capitalize on that popularity.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas Remasters can hopefully get Bethesda's ball rolling again
Bethesda has felt stagnant in recent years. Although Amazon Prime has had a lot of success with Fall-out series, the game series has not produced anything significant. Now that Bethesda has revealed some long awaited Fall-out and The Elder Scrolls 6 updates are hopefully stronger for the developer in the next few years. Starfield failed to resonate with gamers in the same way that Fall-out and The Elder Scrolls has over the years, and the remasters could be the first step in getting Bethesda back on track.
As the year continues, Bethesda will hopefully have more news to share Fall-out and Elder scrolls fans. Only time will tell, but the confirmation of these new Bethesda games is the most fans have heard from the developer in a long time. The wait may be a little longer, but it will be fascinating to see what Fallout 3 and New Vegas look with a new coat of paint.
