Much like the mainline series, One Piece's video game installments attempt to expand the scope of their world. Many of the titles include new islands and worlds for fans to explore outside of the franchise's main canon, allowing the imagination to run wild. But some of One Pieces game relies more heavily on the lands first shown in canon, with many of the islands along the Grand Line featured in the franchise's games. Nevertheless, some important arcs have been neglected in the adaptation One Piece to video games.
Lots of items, characters and beats from everyone One Pieces arcs are included in the main game of the franchise. However, the overall plot, story, and location of certain arcs are missing from these titles. This article focuses on an entire arc missing from the franchise's gameplay. For example, Luffy can wear a Germa 66 Raid Suit i One Piece: World Seekerbut the Whole Cake Island arc is excluded from this installment as the game follows a completely different story and takes place in a new non-canon location.

Therefore, Tax cruisewhich progresses through a variety of One Piece islands based on arcs of the franchise, and Bounty Rushwhich extends to the furthest niches of One Piecehas covered the vast majority of available story arcs. Instead of handicapping the number of arcs that can be discussed in this article, Tax cruise and Bounty Rush should be noted as exceptions to this feature.
Spoilers for One Piece's Amazon Lily arc and beyond are contained in this article
Amazon Lily and the Island of Women
Despite being crucial to Luffy's character development, Amazon Lily has yet to be featured in a mainline One Piece video game. As one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Boa Hancock has appeared numerous times in the series' video games, despite her origin arc never appearing.
This is likely due to Amazon Lily's action. Although there are several fights that take place in Amazon Lily, such as Luffy's battles against Bacura and the sisters Marigold and Sandersonia, these bits are not the main plot of the arc. While incredibly punchy, the arc is fairly short and focuses more on the impending execution of Luffy's brother Ace, Gorgon's backstory, and establishing Boa Hancock as a powerful ally, rather than visually dynamic elements like fight sequences.
With most video game adaptations of the franchise falling under some sort of action or fighting genre, it makes sense that Amazon Lily has yet to fully develop into a One Piece game title. If Amazon Lily were to be included in one One Piece title going forward, its inclusion would likely be short-lived and serve as a way to introduce Boa as an important one One Piece character while setting up the game for a part of the game inspired by Impel Down or Marineford.
Phantom Island Zou
Zou is another bow that has been neglected by One Pieces video game developer. As the first arc of the Whole Cake Island saga, Zou is often left to gather dust as game departures choose to adapt the Whole Cake Island arc instead. Unlike Whole Cake Island, which focuses on Sanji's background and his estranged family, Zou introduces a new world and new characters. Developers likely chose Whole Cake Island out of the two arcs because its plot focuses on an established character that fans are attached to.
This leaves a wide range of possibilities for a video game adaptation of Zou. While a full adaptation of Zou seems unlikely, the focus on the expanded alliance of not only the Straw Hats and the Heart Pirates, but also the additions of the Mink Tribe and Kozuki Clan, could serve as a way to introduce a variety of allies into a fighting game.
Characters introduced in Zou such as Pedro and Carrot have significance in later arcs such as Whole Cake Island and Wano, and have appeared in video game episodes such as Bounty Rush and Tax cruise. The carrot was even included One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4which establishes that the introduction of mink in the mainline One Piece game titles are a proven possibility.
Wano country
Concluding in the anime last year, the Wano arc is still fresh in the minds of fans and video game developers alike. However, the arc ended after the final main line One Piece game, One Piece Odysseyreleased in January 2023. ILCA smartly held off on including elements from Wano i Odysseymeaning that a true canon edition with the Wano arc has not been released.
However, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4features Wano Country heavily despite being released in March 2020, two years before the ending of Wano in the manga in August 2022. This leaves many parts of the game non-canon. In fact, Pirate Warriors 4s adaptation of the Wano arc is so distinctly different that the game's plot should be treated as something entirely different.
This leaves elements like Luffy's Gear 5, Zoro's King of Hell technique, and Sanji's Ifrit Jambe unexplored by One Piece installments of video games. As some of the most powerful moves that the Monster Trio fights with, Wano adapts to a video game in the next One Piece the title only makes sense.

An open-world One Piece game would be remiss not to include an overlooked character
With only one open-world game in the franchise, developers should look to a powerful One Piece support character for the next installment.
Egghead Island and Elbaf
Similar to Wano, Egghead Island and Elbaf have yet to be adapted into video games due to their recent rise to prominence. While Egghead ended in the manga in August of this year, One Pieces anime is currently in the middle of adapting the arc and will also be on hiatus until April 2025. The next game installment in the franchise is unlikely to step on the anime's toes despite the arc's story being fully established.
Like Egghead's freshness to the anime, the first chapter of the Elbaf arc of the manga was released last month. There isn't enough canon material from the arc yet for it to appear in the next one One Piece video game title, although it will undoubtedly appear at some point in the future.
With such a wide range of content to choose from, it's incredible that One Piece game episodes have managed to adapt the vast majority of the franchise's history. However, developers should turn to these neglected arcs to make the next one One Piece title stands out.
