Summer Game Fest season is almost here again, which means I've entered into my annual ritual of pretending I'm going to keep my cool this year while actively updating live stream schedules. This is my personal Super Bowl, my Met Gala, my annual reminder that I can't actually be normal when it comes to video games.
In a short period of time, I think every studio is about to announce the exact game tailored specifically to my tastes. Here are the biggest games I fully expect, or at least hope, to dominate Summer Game Fest 2026.
Hollow Knight: Silksong DLC
Silksong was one of the most anticipated indie releases in years, and even after long periods of silence from Team Cherry, expectations for its presence at major showcases remain high.
While there has been no official confirmation of DLC or new content, the game's continued relevance in gaming discourse means it often resurfaces during major events such as Summer Game Fest or Xbox showcases. If it shows up, the internet will collectively rise. If it doesn't, we'll just keep pretending next year.

10 Funny Random Twitch Moments That Went Viral
Here are the funniest and most viral Twitch streamer moments in recent memory.
Divinity
Larian Studios is currently developing a new standalone RPG titled simply Divinity. According to the studio, it is their most ambitious project to date and is expected to exceed the scope of Baldur's Gate 3. The game is built on a new, upgraded proprietary engine, marking a major technical and creative step forward for the studio.
While details are still limited, the project represents Larian's next big original RPG after the success of Baldur's Gate 3. Given Larian's history of grand showcase reveals, Summer Game Fest would be a logical place for the first big gameplay look or next cinematic teaser. I personally am already emotionally involved with at least three characters that I've only imagined based on vibes.
Clockwork Revolution
Clockwork Revolution has been featured in several Xbox showcases, but still lacks a firm release date beyond a general 2026 window.
Developed by inXile Entertainment, the game combines steampunk aesthetics with first-person RPG mechanics and time-shifting narrative choices. Each appearance has added more details, but the absence of a specific launch date suggests a summer game party could be used to lock in timing.
An official date announcement would help clarify Xbox's broader 2026 lineup, which is expected to be a big year for first-party releases. Which means I will immediately start acting like the date is both too far away and not soon enough, at the same time.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve
Ace Combat 8 recently appeared on European ratings boards under its full subtitle Wings of Theve, signaling that a formal announcement is imminent. Bandai Namco has yet to reveal official gameplay or a release date, but the listing strongly suggests that the project is well into development.
The Ace Combat series has historically been showcased during major summer events, and Summer Game Fest would be a natural stage for a trailer or gameplay reveal, possibly along with confirmation of platforms and launch time. If Summer Game Fest gives us a proper trailer, I will absolutely react like I personally got drafted into the Air Force.

Every Nintendo Switch 2 game worth playing right now
Almost a year into the Nintendo Switch 2's life, its lineup of incredible games continues to grow, but these are the must-have games available now.
Halloween: The Game
IllFonic and Gun Interactive recently revealed the first Unreal Engine 5 trailer for Halloween: The Game, along with a confirmed release date of September 8, 2026.
The game adapts the iconic horror series into an asymmetrical multiplayer experience, with Michael Myers as the central antagonist. With the gameplay already revealed, the Summer Game Fest could be used to showcase additional maps, mechanics, or content plans post-launch. Given its proximity to release, it's also a strong candidate for promotion-heavy appearances over summer events. I'm just excited for the inevitable phase where people start running escape routes within 48 hours of launch like their lives depend on it.
Fable
The Fable reboot has officially been pushed back to February 2027, moving it out of the crowded 2026 release window, including the expected launch window for Grand Theft Auto 6.
Despite the delay, Xbox is expected to continue to showcase the game throughout 2026 to maintain momentum and visibility. Summer Game Fest would be a good opportunity to present updated gameplay footage and strengthen the game's world-building and RPG systems. Previous trailers have focused heavily on cinematic presentation, so fans are likely expecting a deeper look at the actual gameplay.
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival
Saber Interactive's Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival continues to progress steadily toward a late 2026 release window. A new dev diary with Doug Bradley confirmed that the single-player narrative horror game is still in active development, focusing on its Cenobite mythology and story-driven structure.
Summer Game Fest would be an appropriate platform for a new trailer, as it could potentially showcase additional gameplay systems or expanded story elements tied to its horror story.
Monster Hunter Wilds Master/G Rank Expansion
Capcom has confirmed that a large-scale expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds is in development, similar in scope to previous expansions such as Iceborne. Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has said that a full reveal is planned for the summer, making Summer Game Fest one of the most likely venues for the first official trailer or title announcement.
These expansions traditionally add new regions, monsters, and endgame systems, and they extend the life cycle of the base game. A reveal would likely be one of Capcom's biggest reveals of the event.
Fallout 3 Remaster
Reports suggest that a Fallout 3 remaster is in development, though industry expectations suggest it's still further out than many fans hope. While speculation surrounding a shadow case has circulated online, current information points to a longer timeline, making a Summer Game Fest announcement uncertain.
But given Bethesda's history of surprise reveals, the game remains one of the most talked-about possibilities heading into big box office. Even a teaser or acknowledgment would generate significant attention, but a full disclosure seems unlikely at this stage. If it appears, it will immediately break the internet. If it doesn't, we simply recycle the theory for another six months as if nothing happened.
Witchbrook
Witchbrook remains one of the most anticipated cozy simulation games currently in development, with Chucklefish still aiming for a 2026 release window after previous delays. The game focuses on life simulation, magical school systems, farming and social interactions in a pixel art seaside town. It has maintained consistent interest due to its super unique aesthetic direction and long development cycle.
Given its current release goals and the need for updated game visibility, Summer Game Fest would be a strong opportunity for a new trailer or deeper gameplay breakdown. If the game is on track for 2026, it could also be here that a more specific release date is finally confirmed.
If it finally makes a proper appearance at Summer Game Fest, I'll be extremely normal about it. Which is to say: I absolutely will not behave normally at all.
