Echoes of the Past is one of the earliest Outing quests you take part in Dragon Age: The Veilguardmeaning it only contains your Rook and the person the quest belongs to – in this case Bellara. Here are the most underrated companions in the Dragon Age series!
Excursion missions are non-combatso you don't have to worry about what weapons or skills to equip – just find Bellara in the Arlathan Forest near the Ruins Reach Fast Travel Beaconor just across the lake towards the Ruins if you haven't unlocked that Beacon yet. Interact with Bellara and the mission will begin with a cutscene.
You can flirt with Bellara in this scene if you are interested in pursuing a romance with her.
Find and replace the first set of power crystals
When Bellara is tinkering with artifact vault, she will ask you to find two power crystals. The first is directly behind her to her left, in the other alcove. Interact with it and bring it back to her, and you're halfway done.
After that, go to far corner of the lab to her rightwhere you'll find the second Power Crystal floating there calmly. Grab it and take it back to Bellara so her work can be completed.
Find and replace the second set of power crystals
When you go out there are some boxen immediately to the left at the top of the stairs – smash them to reveal a Power Crystal.
Then you want to walk up the small stone steps in the far corner to get the next Power Crystal. Finally, climb the ladder just behind Bellara on the left to find the last Power Crystal in this set.
Find and replace the third set of power crystals
That's probably why you're here. While the first two sets are just a matter of wandering, the last two can be more difficult. First come first served – move away from Bellara and hit the beam to form a bridge. get over it, climb the laddergrab the Power Crystal. Stylish and simple.
Entering the door up the stairs nets you a warden's memento, 40 gold, and the Pursuant's gear outfit.
The next Power Crystal is over the same hatch, but a wall prevents you from getting to it. Nor is there any similar beam to overtake you. But there is a Power Crystal socketthus take the Crystal you just got and make a bridge. Go over, grab the crystal and take it to Bellara. Plug it into the socket as well and you're done.
However, that is not quite the end of the mission. Go outside and talk to Bellara, where she will tell you about her late brother Cyrian, who died in an accident Bellara still blames herself for. This in turn creates one of Bellara's personal arcs that you will revisit throughout Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Along with 500 XP, your reward for this quest is the Focussing Contraption, a rare memento for Bellara that gives her +24 percent Healing and reduces her Cooldowns by 10 percent, while taking ten seconds of accompanying Cooldowns when Bellara suffers an Ability die.
