Seeing Beerus overwhelm both Vegeta and Goku will put into perspective how far ahead he is of both Saiyans. Rumor has it that the remake will keep its Dragon Ball Super: Beerus title for each story arc, rather than rebranding. This suggests that Beerus will remain a main character throughout the story, slowly building up to his final rematches with Goku and Vegeta when Dragon Ball Super manga returns.

The Black Frieza Saga will be the turning point for Beerus' end game

The Dragon Ball Super manga took a hiatus with the release of Chapter 104, but all signs point to Toyotarou's revival Dragon Ball Super manga sooner rather than later. When Dragon Ball Super manga returns, the Z-Fighters will face their biggest challenge yet: Black Frieza. Dragon Ball has officially revealed that Broly is stronger than Gogeta Blue as long as he uses his True Legendary Super Saiyan form.

Alternatively, Black Frieza may have become so powerful that the only way to stop him is to make him Universe 7's God of Destruction in order to reign in his harsh, destructive power. Both scenarios set the stage for Goku and Vegeta's rematch with Beerus. If Black Frieza really does kill Beerus, he'll have to be revived and – when he is – he'll want to prove to Goku and Vegeta that he's still on top.
