Donkey Kong Bananza has young Pauline who does the same dance from 1981's Donkey Kong

We are about two weeks from Donkey Kong Bananza, and everyone thumps the chest in anticipation. From what we have seen in trailers and Nintendo directs, it will offer more freedom than any game in the long -term series. With the ability to literally crush through full levels thanks to the same team behind the Super Mario Odyssey, the upcoming title could not look more different than its classic arcade roots.

Donkey Kong Bananza changes some big things about the Mario universe, and I'm all for that.

While the game is poles apart from 1881's Donkey Kong, it seems that there is a subtle nick for the classic arcade game as well as Mario Odyssey, and it is related to DK's old friend, Pauline. We still do not know why Pauline is a child in Donkey Kong Bananza, but she already has some of the ways in her older self, as a special dance movement.

Young Pauline has been doing the same dance steps for 44 years

As discovered by iCyMeeting1051 and Rampo on Reddit, the young Pauline can be seen to make the same dance steps in Donkey Kong Bananza as she did in Super Mario Odyssey and the classic Donkey Kong. Of course, the original version was not a dance, but just some random sprite movement to make kidnapped Pauline look lively.

It seems that Devs turned it into a dance step that Pauline plays in the new Donk City section of Odyssey and used it again in Bananza. It looks like it's her go-to-dance steps now. Unfortunately, Pauline does not have as much content as such as Peach, Daisy and Rosalina, but it looks like Nintendo may just build its character in Bananza. It's not much, but it's a start.

We still do not know why this version of Pauline is 13 years old. There have been theories that it is a prequel, but Nintendo has not confirmed anything yet.
