Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players have discovered a major issue with the game's emotes feature, which allows users to briefly enter third-person and see enemies that wouldn't be visible in first-person. Call of Duty fans were given the opportunity to go hands-on with Black Ops 6 as part of the game's August and September open beta weekends, and it looks like they've already discovered some game-breaking features overlooked by developer Treyarch Studios.
In preparation for the launch, Treyarch Studios recently confirmed the full list of changes being made Black Ops 6 from the last beta weekends. The blog post lists a ton of tweaks, from movement tweaks to weapon balancing, fan feedback from both beta weekends has been heard loud and clear by the studio, meaning the upcoming shooter will feature a plethora of changes come October 25th when Black Ops 6 released for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
Although Treyarch has already confirmed that it will make changes to the Black Ops 6s winner's circle, fans are now calling for the studio to make a hugely important change to the emotions of the game. On Reddit, a user posted a short clip of YouTuber ImMarksman, playing Black Ops 6 beta and managed to kill two opponents after revealing their locations by using an emote that changed his perspective from first to third person. The Redditor noted how this feature will be a “huge problem” and that all emotes should be in first person to prevent unfair advantages.
Black Ops 6 players are finding huge problems with emotes
Many users pointed out that this feels like an unfortunate throwback to the times Call of Duty: Black Ops 4as the same mistake was made by Treyarch in the 2018 shooter, with one user saying they “don't know what [Treyarch] thought to do [emotes] third person.” Another Reddit user said the studio should take a leaf out of it Apex Legends' book and avoid rendering all other players during emote if they weren't already visible to the player beforehand. Others said that emotes should be completely disabled outside of the winner's circle.
With Black Ops 6 just around the corner, War zone will undergo some massive updates. Alongside the introduction of omnidirectional movement, fans can also expect to see the return of emotes and sprays to the free-to-play battle royale. But with fans already campaigning to have the former removed from multiplayer, more controversy could be on the way if the feature isn't fixed in time Black Ops 6 is integrated with War zone later this year.
