Black Ops 6 can take its franchise homages to the next level with the One Zombies feature

Because Call of Duty always trying to shake things up, there have been a lot of ideas that didn't carry over to the next chapter. While it often comes in the form of maps and mechanics, the games' weapon lists also seem to vary from game to game. Of course, it often depends on the different time periods and concepts at play. But, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6this approach can change drastically in its Zombies mode.

Just like any other mode Call of Duty Zombies mode has had its fair share of weapons added and removed. They are either removed because of the different time periods at play, because they were under or overpowered, or simply to keep things fresh. However, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 seems like a blast from the past to many. And because of that, it could be Treyarch's chance to revisit some of Zombies' more forgotten weapons through the popular mystery box mechanic.

Call of Duty 2025's massive zombie leak only put Black Ops 6 in a difficult position

If new Call of Duty 2025 leaks are to be believed, Back Ops 6's Zombies mode could have a lot of ground to cover in the coming months.

Zombies Mode has the perfect feature to honor the past

Black Ops 6's Mystery Box could be the perfect outlet for nostalgia

Since the beginning, Call of Dutys mystery box has been a fun way for players to gear up to take on the zombie hordes. In each iteration, this box has housed many of the game's arsenal as well as the powerful Wonder Weapons, such as the Ray Gun. With black ops 6, so it continues to be the case. However, some players believe that the game's arsenal is quite light, with many of the same weapons appearing all the time. But that could change if Treyarch wants to delve into the past.

The mystery box feels like the perfect place for Call of Duty to explore its extensive past. Through it, players could obtain a wide assortment of weapons from previous Zombies modes. Instead of finding room for these weapons through whatever map they're on, Treyarch could just throw them in the box as a reward. Not only would this expand the current game's arsenal immensely, but it would also be a great way to give players some nostalgia. Of course, it would likely be a technical nightmare, but it feels like it would be well worth the effort.

Expanding the Mystery Box can take this mode to new heights

  • PPSh-41 from World at War
  • MP40 from World at War
  • STG 44 from World at War
  • Galil from Black Ops
  • Famas from Black Ops
  • Remington New Model Army from Black Ops 2
  • Mauser C96 from Black Ops 2
  • The Marshals from Black Ops 3
  • The Haymaker from Black Ops 3
  • MOG 12 from Black Ops 4

These weapons are just some of the many weapons that Treyarch can add Black Ops 6s mystery box. If it wants to shake things up further, the studio could also delve into the expansive list of Wonder Weapons that Zombies has offered over the years. While the Ray Gun has become a staple of the series, many of the titles have had their own unique roster of special weapons that could once again shine in the latest Zombies experience.

As long as the studio can make sure they're not too over or underpowered, all of these additions would be a lot of fun for players to mess around with once again. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 already feels like a blast from the franchise's past, so now the studio just needs to exploit that idea further. And with all the Zombies content looming on the horizon, it feels like the perfect time to do just that. If not included Black Ops 6when Call of Duty 2025 is just waiting to get it.
