Old-school Call of Duty fans cheer as the two most beloved entries in the Black Ops subseries, BO1 and BO2are now available on PS4 and PS5. If players can act quickly, they can even get these classics Call of Duty: Black Ops game for halftime, with their DLC highlighted as well.
Obviously, the shadow release is hugely exciting, as fans had expected a typical Friday release for the titles. July 10 had seemed the most likely date, with Major Call of Duty events planned for the back half of the month – including news of upcoming ones Modern Warfare 4 and the launch of Black Ops 7fifth season — making a later release less likely. The trophy lists for these two Black Ops games being added to the PSN database only made their addition seem more likely, but players get to play the games a day earlier than they expected. And, thankfully, for cheaper than many thought too.

While fans feared the expected price points of these two Black Ops titles and their DLC, those with PlayStation Plus can get them cheaper than expected. Sure, the base games are still $40 apiece, and the normal list price for their season tickets is $30, but Cod fans can get all content for less until August 6th. As long as users subscribe to PlayStation Plus, they can get each Black Ops gate for $20 and their associated season tickets for $10 each.

$60 for both of these classics Cod games and all their DLC is a much easier sell than the expected $140, as if they can be excellent, BO1 and BO2 are also old games, which are 16 and 14 years old respectively. The discounted DLC is particularly impactful, as many of the post-launch Zombies maps are must-haves, such as Call of the Dead and Mob of the Dead. For the first time ever, players can have every single Cod Zombies map downloaded on the same PlayStation console, although it has the likes of BO3, BO4and so on will take up one's entire console storage.
Fortunately, because these classic Black Ops games retain their small file sizes (20.17 GB for BO121.89 GB for BO2), players can have them on their hard drives along with many modern games. Call of Dutys frustratingly large file sizes have been a common complaint from many in recent years, so it's good to have an option for some 6v6 mayhem or round-based survival that doesn't take up too much space. It's also worth mentioning that the customization packs a punch Black Ops 2which used to cost $2 per pack, is completely free for the new ports and can be downloaded via a single pack.

With these Cod ports in demand for years and heavily discounted for their first month of availability, they are likely to sell extremely well and be heavily populated for years to come.
