Do you know what usually happens when a cannonball hits an enemy soldier? I'll give you a hint: the color red. When Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced's reveal trailer lacked blood at any given point, from slashing daggers to Caribbean naval warfare, fans took notice. It was unrealistic to say the least; Also, it didn't sync with the original game.
Fear not, ye hearts. After your final product, there will be blood.
Oh, and there won't be paid DLC
I don't know about you, but I never expected blood to be paid DLC for Black Flag Resynced. But people are wary, and I know it's happened a few times throughout video game history, so that was one of several things that Ubisoft Singapore's Justin Ng – a producer on the remake – took to Twitter to clarify.
The main note, of course, is that “there will be blood in the endgame.” There you have it. Realistic wound fans keep winning and all that. But there's a bit more, actually:
“We hear the feedback on the VFX and audio cues on the fight. It fades out.” -Justin Ng
This is a nice little bonus message, honestly. There was way too much bombast in the reveal trailer even for the pirate scene. It's good to see that Ubisoft is taking notes as we head bow-first into the long-awaited revival's July 9 release date.
How long-awaited, by the way? It's already topping the PlayStation charts in both the US and the UK, for starters.
