Black clover is a shonen story by Yuki Tabata that tells the story of Asta, a boy born without mana in a world filled with magic. Black clover was once a very popular story, serialized in the same magazine containing stories like One Piece, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisenand others, but due to repeated hiatuses stemming from the creator's health issues, it saw a flurry of hiatuses, leading to the story taking a massive hit.
The Black Clover manga will officially end its run on August 4, 2026, with the release of volume #38. Immediately after, the anime is ready to sweep in and take over the world. Black Clover reveals brand new key image for season 2
Black Clover debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #15 on February 16, 2015. This story was created by Japanese mangaka Yuki Tabata, and although it had a good spread in the magazine, the serialization was moved to the seasonal magazine Jump GIGA on December 25, 2023, due to the writer being unable to keep up with the schedule. This meant that Black Clover would only release a few chapters a year, and it slowed down serialization drastically. With all that said, on April 30, 2026, Tabata finally ended the story with chapter 392. This was a huge moment for the manga, and it opened the gate for the anime to finally finish the story in its own medium. The anime previously went on hiatus in 2021 due to the lack of manga content, but 2026 is the year it will return.
Studio Pierrot previously announced that the anime will officially return on December 21, 2025, at Jump Festa 2026, with a new teaser. Excitement has been building ever since, and as the anime nears its return with Black Clover Season 2, we got a brand new image from Studio Pierrot on July 2, 2026.
This new image features the three main characters from Black Clover – Asta, Yuno and Noelle. What is particularly striking is their appearance. All three characters are in their powerful forms. Asta takes on her Devil Union form, while Yuno takes on her Spirit Dive and Noelle transforms into Valkyrie Dress. This is a clue to the exciting battles to come in Black Clover Season 2, where they will have to use their ultimate powers.
