One of the features introduced in the Dave the Diver: Into the Jungle is the friendship system in Utara Village. You can talk to, complete quests for, and give gifts to the various villagers to improve your friendship with them.
Improving your friendship levels means they'll give you gifts and start appearing as customers at Bancho Grill, so if you want your jungle restaurant to be successful, you'll need to invest in being nice to the characters around you.

Favorite gifts for every villager
You can talk to villagers and select the 'Gift' option to give them one of your items. If there is one known favorite item, there will be a heart next to the item in your inventory. You can also talk to villagers to ask them about their favorite things.
You can only give one gift to each villager per day.
