Pale moss blocks

Draining the life from the world around them

These drained decorative blocks are everywhere in the Pale Garden. Pale Hanging Moss is found strung from Pale Oak Trees, making even less of the area visible. Squeeze your vision down to something other than a mess of white and gray pixels.

Looking at the ground, you'll see the Pale Moss carpets, climbing up other blocks for cool details. Both of these together create the feeling of a dead biome that has something hiding behind every vine. These also make different atmospheric sounds and add that extra hint of horror to any environment you create.

Eye blooms

Look into their beauty Come Nightfall

These flowers may look unremarkable at first glance, but wait until nightfall and they will open their petals to reveal a glowing orange core. This open design is identical to Creaking's eyes. When you're in the dark in a pale garden, you'll see them staring at you, putting you on edge as to where the creaking might be.

The most useful part of these is that they can be used as cheap daylight sensors in any redstone gear. In fact, they actually work better than daylight sensors because they don't require an open skylight source to work and are hard-coded to change when the time turns to night.

New technical changes

Under The Hood Tweaks, were fantastic additions

If you're a casual gamer, you can overlook these tweaks, but there are some interesting changes. Each update comes with hundreds of internal changes, making custom content easier to create for the game. These also help everything run more smoothly and fix any issues that might happen or just add nice little features to already existing content.

In this drop some of the highlights are:

• Mobs now have preferred weapon lists of what they can pick up and use.

• Kittens and puppies now have a collar that is a mix of the parent's collar color.

• Popoloca is now a supported language.

• Objects can be colored to different shades using commands.

• Particles can now have a “duration” variable to customize how long they last.

• Suspicious Stew effects have been adjusted for parity in both versions.

The creaking heart

The heart of the garden

The Creaking Heart is the main feature of Pale Garden and is the source of the Creaking Mob. Although the mob is impervious to all damage, this block is the only way to defeat it. It's also how you collect resin lumps, so if you find one of these it will have a ton of value to you. The best part is that if you use a Silk Touch tool, you can take it wherever you want.

As long as you place a pale oak above and below a creaking heart, a creaking Mob will spawn at night. This is a fun way to mess with friends by hiding the setup so that they are then attacked by a creak at night. If you want to be extra mean, hide one of these in the house of a friend who doesn't have diamonds yet. Then surround the blocks with Obsidian to create an invincible nightmare every time night falls.

Set with bleached oak wood

Sad yet appealing lifeless wood

A new type of wood is always good to see in the game, as wood is one of the most useful building blocks. The Pale Oak set is incredibly beautiful and looks as nice as the first white wood. The details of the monochrome wood stand out exceptionally well with all the other blocks.

It feels like we've been waiting for this type of wood for over a decade now. The white color allows for fantastic building potential, especially with darker wood or blocks. They suck the life out of our buildings and make the Pale Oak Tree a must for all building lovers.

The Pale Garden Biome

Your world has never looked so scary

The main attraction of this update is the Pale Garden Biome. This rare Biome is a claustrophobic forest that dulls the world around you. The sky above you turns gray as you step onto the moss covered floor, and come night you will be embraced by darkness.

Having such a unique design with a creepy atmosphere, along with a set of standalone blocks and features makes Pale Garden exciting for all players. You may only need to visit it once, but by taking a pale oak plant along with a creaking heart, you can easily turn any area into a portable pale garden.

The creak

Don't let it out of your sight

The Creaking is a unique mob that can only be found naturally in a pale garden. Spawning at night, Creaking will quickly chase you, unless you have it in your sight. It will only attack you if it is not in your line of sight and cannot be damaged directly. Just by following the track to the left after hitting it, you'll find the Creaking Heart block, which, when broken, destroys the creaking.

After the addition of the Warden Mob and its sound mechanics, it's wonderful to have another mind-based mob and creates this fearsome enemy for players to face in the lifeless biome. Modern Minecraft design pushes what's possible in the game with elements we would never think could be done if they weren't modded Mobs.

Resin

Just like copper but better

A surprisingly good addition comes in the form of Resin Clumps. These can be melted to create a range of bright orange blocks that make interesting building blocks, especially when combined with other Pale Garden blocks. They can also be used as armor details to create a sharp orange trim that Copper wishes it had.

These lumps can be collected by hitting a creaking which will cause the creaking heart to scatter resin lumps onto nearby pale oak logs. By catching a squeaker, you can create a Resin farm and use these detailed blocks to add extra color to your builds. The blocks can even be put as decoration on any block, we can see you using them as a nice stone path.
