Battlefield 6 is quietly removing the Bright Blue Wicked Grin Skin

Battlefield 6's RedSec battle royale mode has completely changed the game. By that I don't mean the new gameplay that the mode has introduced, but the large number of microtransactions that have come with the season one update. Most of the goodwill that fans had for it has disappeared after being faced with a massive wave of monetization options.

As the reviews for the game drop, Dice will probably have to address this issue at some point. Just a few days ago, the only issues developers had to deal with were smaller maps and colorful skins – both of which are relatively easier to deal with than the monetization system that seems woven into the very fabric of Battlefield 6. If it's any consolation, the bright blue Wicked Grin skin is gone.

If you fire up Battlefield 6 right now and sift through all the microtransaction options, you'll notice that the Wicked Grin variant of the standard NATO assault suit has been quietly removed by the developers. This may possibly vary depending on the region you're in, but it looks like Dice has either permanently shelved it or will be reintroducing it with toned down colors.

Just a couple of days ago, fans noticed that some of the other colorful skins in the game were tweaked to look more grounded. In particular, a shell with neon green pipes and layers, which looked like a Monster Energy collaboration, was changed to make the green much darker and more like something you might actually see on a battlefield.

As for the Wicked Grin skin, there was nothing wrong with the outfit itself. Perhaps the developers can simply adjust the brightness of the blue to bring it more in line with what the players have been asking for. Fans on Reddit have shown their appreciation to the developers, as it shows that they have actually listened to the community.

Hopefully this is just the first step in Dice addressing the overall issues the community has with Battlefield 6, even if you don't have high hopes for the monetization features.
