This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen's Shinjuku Showdown Arc.
Important takeaways
- The shrine cursed technique in JJK belongs to Sukuna and offers powerful abilities such as Dismantle, Cleave, Divine Flames and more.
- Yuji becomes a formidable user of the Shrine in JJK's Shinjuku Showdown arc, manifesting a unique version within his domain expansion.
- Yuta and Megumi also use the Shrine technique in JJK, showing off impressive skills, but Sukuna remains the strongest user.
The Shrine, also known as Mizushi, is one of the strongest Cursed Techniques fans have seen JJK. This technique belongs to none other than Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. Fans know this technique is powerful enough to slice and dice almost anything in its path. The shrine is more complicated than it looks. It's basically a kitchen for the user to use, where they can use sharp knives to dismantle targets in one swipe, and Cleave to tear their enemies apart on contact, with its strength and cutting ability depending on the amount of cursed energy used.

Sukuna was the strongest villain in JJK. It took an army of powerful characters to take him down.
The Shrine also grants the user access to a Furnace, where they can cook their opponents with thermobaric explosions. Apparently Shrine is a powerful ability, and it certainly has more than one user JJK.
4 Ryomen Sukuna
The King of Curses
The best Shrine user that fans have seen in JJK is quite easy Sukuna. Sukuna was the original user of the shrine, and fans saw him use this technique on many occasions. Sukuna can chop down her enemies with a dismount or use Cleave to slice her enemies according to their toughness and the cursed energy applied.
Sakuna can even access Divine Flames after using both Cleave and Dismantle, burning his target to death. His domain expansion, called the Malevolent Shrine, is the pinnacle of his technique and it can tear apart all of his enemies. Obviously, there is hardly anyone in JJK's world who can withstand his powerful punches. Even if they do, Sukuna's strongest ability, which is World Cutting Dismantle, is incredibly difficult for anyone to survive.
3 Yuji Itadori
Sukuna's original ship
Yuji Itadori is yet another powerful user of the Shrine cursed technique. After being Sukuna's vessel for a long time, Yuji was able to use the shrine. In fact, Sukuna used the shrine multiple times in Yuji's body. If that wasn't enough, Yuji himself ended up awakening the shrine in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. His version of Shrine was slightly different and safer than Sukun's, and fans saw him use it effortlessly.

These JJK characters were able to defeat Devine General Mahoraga.
Yuji was able to combine the power of his slashing abilities, such as Dismantle, with his soul-damaging punches. Basically, Yuji could start Dismantle and Cleave on his opponent's souls, making him incredibly dangerous. Fans also saw Yuji manifest a powerful domain expansion of the Shrine cursed technique. His sure attack inside the domain was a powerful Soul Dismantle, which even caused massive damage to yeoman Sukuna, King of Curses. Yuji is a majestic user of Shine and definitely the strongest alive at the end of the story.
2 Yuta Okkotsu
A child prodigy with the cursed ability
Unbeknownst to many, Yuta is also a powerful user of the Shrine cursed technique. Yuta gained access to the shrine in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. After consuming Yuji's finger, Yuta used Cleave, which allowed him to cut down Sukuna with a powerful bunch of slashes. This happened within his own domain expansion, where he could use his copied techniques as many times as he wanted, provided he picked up the right sword.
Undoubtedly, Yuta was a skilled user of the shrine, but his skill hardly compares to Sukuna, or even Yuji's. Whether Yuta would be able to use stronger techniques, like Dismantle, World Splitting Dismantle, or abilities like Divine Flame remains to be seen. But at least the fans know that Yuta was able to access this powerful technique at least as long as Yuji didn't heal his finger. It is still unknown if Yuta can still use this technique at least within his domain, or if he has now lost access to it since Yuji has most certainly healed his finger.
1 Megumi Fushiguro
Sukuna's other ship
Megumi Fushiguro is another character with access to the shrine, but likely only for a limited time. Of course, this access comes from Sukuna having been inside Megumi's body. Once Sukuna suppressed Megum, he used Shrine through him. In fact, the World Cutting Dismantle was invented in Megumi's body. Even though Megumi doesn't control his body, it can be seen in a way as him using the shrine.
After the death of the King of Curses, Megumi was free, meaning he could no longer use the shrine. But it remains to be seen if he can actually gain access to the Shrine similar to how Yuji did. Megumi saw the Shrine being used and his body more extensively than Yuji ever did. If Yuji could have learned this technique by having Sukuna in his body, maybe Megumi could too. Regardless, fans know that Megumi at least used the Shrine as long as Sukuna controlled her body.
