All CoD Warzone changes are coming with Black Ops 6 Season 1
As part of the annual tradition, Call of Duty: Warzone planned for a significant update after the integration with Black Ops 6. This integration will take place with Season 1 releasing on November 14, introducing new content that will provide Black Ops experience back to Battle Royale – a first since then Black Ops Cold War year 2021.
These updates often feel like the launch of a brand new game due to the significant changes they introduce, including new weapons, maps and other features. Here's a look at all the changes coming CoD Warzone with the release of Black Ops 6 Season 1.

Area 99 Resurgence map
Area 99 is a brand new Resurgence map debuts in CoD Warzone with Black Ops 6 Season 1. Inspired by the fan-favorite multiplayer map, Nuketown, this fresh battlefield will has 10 different points of interest for players to discover.
Omnimovement System
In addition to introducing a new map, one of the most important changes in War zone is the Omnimovement system, which drastically changes the gameplay experience and player mobility during both map transition and combat. This new movement mechanic, also featured in Multiplayer, allows players to sprint, slide and dive in any direction. It also contains a recumbent position, which enables a full 360-degree range of motion.
Dedicated melee auto and unlimited tactical sprint
Unlimited Tac Sprint returns to War zonethanks to the introduction of the Dedicated Melee Slot in Black Ops 6. To activate it, simply equip the knife and you'll gain Unlimited Tac Sprint while using it. This new feature allows players to keep a knife in their loadout without sacrificing their secondary weapon slot.
Unlimited Tac Sprint was a fan-favorite feature in the original iteration of the battle royale title, but later versions limited its use. Now, with the integration of BO6it's back and all you have to do is equip the dedicated knife to take full advantage.
Classic inventory return and loot changes
After incorporating the backpack system in MW2's era, War zone will return to its traditional loot system when integrated with BO6. This classic looting system gives players a main inventory that, once full, requires them to drop items to manage the space.
Here are all the items players can pick up and have stored in their inventory:
- Cash
- Gas-mask
- Armor plates
- Kill streak
- Field upgrade
- Primary, secondary and melee weapons
- Assault Rifle, SMG, Shotgun, Sniper and Launcher Ammo
Armor and ammo pouches
Satchels make a return alongside the classic inventory system, offering players the ability to increase the amount of ammo or armor they can carry. War zone now has two types of bags: Armored case and Ammo bag. Players will have to choose between them, depending on whether they want to prioritize carrying more armor or additional ammo.
Wildcard
With the return of Wildcards to Multiplayer, War zone players will also have access to wildcards in their loads. Although adapted to fit Battle Royale mechanics, these wildcards will give players extra advantages when it comes to customizing their loadouts.
Pick-3 Perk System
War zone will introduce a new Pick-3 Perk system, allows players to choose three perks for their loadoutalong with an optional wildcard. Players will also be able to collect lootable perks scattered across the map and obtain Pick-3 Perk Packs from fallen enemies.
The Perk system has been revamped to balance and combine less popular or underutilized perks with others for more strategic play. Additionally, the fan-favorite Specialist Perk Package will be available as a lootable item in the game.
Mastering Camos
For the first time since the official release in 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone will feature its own exclusive Mastery Camo grind, including Gold Tiger, King's Ransom, Catalyst and Abyss Camos (see picture above). These will be unlocked by meeting specific requirements, giving players additional in-game goals to work towards while playing.
Prestige System
War zone introducing the Prestige systema Multiplayer feature that makes its debut in the Battle Royale mode, which offers players a level progression system with challenging milestones and exclusive rewards.
Much like in Multiplayer, each new Prestige will reset a player's level, temporarily lock certain weapons (which may include meta options) and content. To regain access, players must level up again or use a Permanent Unlock Token to secure these items. However, the weapon levels themselves will remain unaffected by the reset.
Global weapon builds
The The Global Weapon Builds system is a unified loadout feature Black Ops 6 multiplayer, War zoneand Zombies. With this system, any adjustments made to your weapon build or Blueprint – such as accessories, camos, stickers and charms – will automatically be applied across all three modes, improving efficiency and saving players time when making changes across multiple game modes.
Changes and improvements in quality of life
As with all major updates, War zone will receive a large number of quality of life changes that will directly impact gameplay and how players approach Battle Royale and Resurgence matches.
Here's a breakdown of all the quality improvements developers are implementing with the integration of BO6 and War zone:
- Weapon Rarity Outline: Earth exchange weapons will now have an outline that matches their rarity color for easier identification.
- Mantling improvements: Improved speed and agility when sheathing.
- Pick Up Self-Revives while downed: Felled players can now pick up Self-Revives from dead enemies or land swaps.
- Downed enemies do not trigger high alert
- Bounty Threat Level Sound Queue
- Reduced splash in game
- Minimized lot card when viewing loot
- With locker Loot Drop improvements
- Reduced duration of liveping: The duration of live pings that mark enemy movement will be shorter.
- Pinging switch triggers navigation point: When a player pings loot, a waypoint is generated that allows their teammates to track the highlighted item.
- Updated Ascenders and Ziplines: Improved speed and agility when using ascenders and ziplines.
- Simplified In-Match UI and menus
- Updates to Infil and Exfil sequences
