Despite its popularity among certain segments of the Mortal Kombat 1 fanbase, Towers of Time is undoubtedly a huge downgrade from the Invasions mode. It offers no new story content and somehow manages to feel a lot more repetitive, especially for those aiming to finish in the top 5%. One area where the former can sometimes be better though is through its pricing, with some Towers of Time rewards being significantly better than anything else Invasions has to offer.

Mortal Kombat 1: How to Perform Every Death (And What They Look Like)
A guide explaining how to perform each Fatality in Mortal Kombat 1 with videos showing what they look like in action and where players must stand.
Unfortunately, claiming the top prize in Towers of Time will usually require an awful lot of gridding, and this is greatly exacerbated by the fact that players have no idea what the score threshold for each rank will be. However, one thing is announced in advance is what the current Towers of Time rewards will be, which might at least make it easier for Mortal Kombat 1 players to decide if it will be worthwhile.
Mortal Kombat 1 Towers of Time Rewards (November 19 – December 4)
- Top 5% – Ghostface Announcer
- Top 10% – Reiko Palette
- Top 20% – Kenshi Palette
- Top 33% – Scorpion Gear
- Top 50% – Ashrah equipment
- Top 100% – 2,500 Season Credits
Players will earn the reward for their current rank and all those below it when the Towers of Time timer reaches zero.
How many points are needed to finish in the 5% of Towers of Time?
Unfortunately, the game doesn't give any real indication of how close players are to reaching or dropping out of a specific rank, which can make it a bit difficult to maintain your position on the leaderboard. In some Towers of Time events, a total of 1,000 points has been enough to secure the top prize, but it really depends on what the reward is for being in the top 5% and its desirability among players. Announcer packs for popular or recently released Kombatants like Ghostface are always likely to attract a larger audience, so players should be prepared to grind out 1,500+ points if necessary.
Players can check their current ranking via the pause menu in Towers of Time.
The best way to earn points in Towers of Time
When it comes to which tower players should choose, Seasonal Tower gives the most points and also rewards players with new skins and palettes. However, this is also the hardest of the towers and gets even harder over time, so anyone fighting high difficulty opponents may need to look elsewhere. Legacy Tower offers a fairly respectable 10 points and consists of just five relatively simple fights, although players will need to spend 2,500 kroner to participate. For those planning to play through Invasions Mode, this entry fee shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially if they already raided all the chests last time. For everyone else, however, one of the clock towers in the background may prove to be a better option.
In addition to the points from towers, players can collect a decent amount of points with complete the easy, hard and weekly challengeswhich can be checked in the Towers of Time pause menu. Like many of the towers, these reset periodically and can serve as a great way to load up points with just a few simple adjustments to one's playstyle. Players can also earn useful rewards from Towers of Time challenges, such as Relics, Talismans, and Dragon Krystals, the latter of which can be used to purchase premium cosmetics based on classic skins and palettes from the past Mortal Kombat games and movies.
