Spoilers forward for The last of us part 2 and The last of us Season 2.
In addition to a painful, worrying death, season 2 section 2 of The last of us Gave the audience a pretty spectacle when thousands of infected came rushing down the city of Jackson. Here Tommy toe-to-toe went with a bloater. The show, for a short while, stopped seeing much reminiscent of HBO's former big hit, Game of ThroneS, and how it depicted huge battles.
The bloater itself was huge, scary and difficult to take down and turn this brand new scene for the show into a prominent for HBO's adaptation. Now it is safe to assume that another spectacle may be worthwhile to predict The last of us Ends with Rat King sometime in the show, whether it is during this current season or next.

The last of us part 3 must give an infected type A -Glow up
The last of us has lots of frighteningly infected types, but there is a special glow in a potential part 3.
Why a rat king fight in HBO's the last of us just became much more promising
The last of us“Bloater -Kamp hopefully was not only a visual flex, but instead a Ret and subtle proof of the concept. It confirmed that The last of us Showrunners can not only handle large -scale infected action and that they are committed to delivering it with weight and spectacle. The execution of Bloater's Groteske design, screen presence and chaos (which is the lonely infected who could crush a hole in the city's defense), reflected its threat level in the game almost one-to-one.
It sets a precedent, and with that precedent comes expectations: If HBO is willing to go so far for a crucial infected moment in the show's second episode, it can set the stage for something even more ambitious. One of the most notorious and frightening enemies in The last of us part 2Rat King was already a cinematic in design. A grotesque fusion of several infected types with unpredicted movements and a second phase where a stalker differs from its mass, Rat King makes a claustrophobic and unique meeting in Part 2.
Translating the main infected types seemed difficult until now
Translating a fully driven bloater, let alone a rat king, to the screen always seemed like a high order until now. The Bloater sequence showed that HBO does not cut corners in terms of creature effects, practical makeup or advanced CGI. If they approach The last of us part 2Rat king with the same technical aggression and plot voltage, it will not only be correct but also easy to attract any game fan that did not necessarily follow the show until this point.
How HBO can turn gaming mechanics into the prestige horror of TV
For The last of us Television series to translate the entire scene effectively must replace interactivity with pure tension, use cinematography, sound design and spatial stimulation to simulate the same feeling of fear. Rat King does not have to replicate the player experience one-to-one, and there is a possibility that neither season 2 nor season 3 actually adapt Rat King and choose something completely different. Only time will tell you what HBO has chosen for its adaptation, which in many ways is extremely careful about what it has chosen to faithfully portray from the games.
