Marvel Rivals Has withdrawn the curtain on the next season, with his heroes and theme officially revealed. Players will fight in Marvel's eighth city, a captivating projection of the seven cities in heaven, of which K'un-Lun is part. Baptized “Heart of the Dragon”, the new season will bring fresh team-ups along with two more heroes. Vanguard Angela, a former Rome Character who joined Marvel Universe just over a decade ago, and Dizang, traditionally known as Daredevil. The latter of these two characters is so different that he can illuminate a recent controversy that has been all furious in Marvel Rivals The community in the last month: original heroes.
Marvel Rivals Haven't confirmed if Dizang will be a Vanguard, Duelist or Strategist, although Duelist seems to be the most likely.
Recently, Marvel Rivals Developer Netease revealed that it had green light from Marvel to create its own original characters. Probably a response to Rivals'Enormously successful launch and inspired art style, as well as the potential for the addition of recent comic books (Luna Snow came to the series after her debut in Marvel Future FightAfter all), Marvel is to take this attitude not so surprisingly. However, fans were immediately concerned about this decision. This is also meaningful, as there are so many large heroes and villains that are still missing in the game as well as niche marvel characters to take in, so it is strange to even consider completely original characters. As such, it was a lot of upset that Netease says “stay updated” and suggests that original heroes were around the corner, but if Dizang is what I think he is, everyone may have overreacted all the time.
I was admittedly willing to play the devil's advocate for Marvel Rivals'Original heroes even though it was not my cup of tea, because previous success with Luna and Netease that turned Jeff Landhajen from a fairly niche Gwenpool Sidekick to a future MCU character gave me confidence that the studio would give something interesting. I still have a long list of classic Marvel figures that I would rather see before original characters, and hoped Netase would not go overboard, but at least I was open to the idea. But I am beginning to think that such a scenario will not even play, at least not in the way we all thought, so disappointed fans can be safe to put down their pitch.
Marvel Rivals' Daredevil may be the standard for Netease's “Original characters”
While fans may call Marvel Rivals“Season 4 characters Daredevil and Angela, Netease has used another name for the former in their trailer description and official Lore: Dizang. Although players will still check a character called Matt Murdock in a Red Devil costume, the Mids season update for season 4, he has practically any other thing. Prison for demons and criminals, which is where the whole thing has been found to follow his stint as the Queen in Black. This will see him fight with Angela, as Sister wants to bring her back to Asgard. Under their collision, Matt with superpowers that have been granted him by a dragon New character-something worth diving in deeper.
Although this is pure speculation, I would not be shocked if this is what Netase meant by original characters. Maybe the developer will not actually draw new characters from thin air, but to transform existing ones to deliver fresh takes. Just as Matt Murdock has been given a new name, different powers and a new city to protect, maybe Netase is planning to change other fixtures in the Marvel University. Opportunities include, but are really not limited to:
-
Powerless characters that Maria Hill could go from a Basic Shield agent to a superpower member in the guard list, with a healthy origin story and a new hero name that matches.
-
Spider-Gwen can be given a unique ability or two that Miles Morales has, making her a more viable Roster supplement.
-
Cyclops could have some additional forces along with his optical blasts to give him a deeper kit. Netease could also play with “Cyclops did nothing wrong”, perhaps patted him against Charles Xavier during an X-Men-Inburde War season.
-
Cable could trade with its weapons and lean more to technical -based abilities to differ from Punisher, with Netease taking its techno -organized virus longer than ever.
-
Miss Marvel can adopt her MCU power set, or another original set of abilities, so that she does not overlap Mr. Fantastic (and ant-man if he has eventually been added).
Marvel Rivals that add more “new” heroes like Dizang can be a win-win scenario
If Dizang turns out to be what Netease referred to when it comes to original heroes, I accept even more the idea, and I can imagine that many other Marvel -fans would also be. Setting brand new spins on characters like Matt Murdock is a bold decision, and a traditional approach should still be taken to most characters, but shakes things up here and there can work well. Netease has clearly put a lot of effort to make his daredevil unique, while still maintaining the parts of his character that are essential, and it is certainly possible to apply this method to other heroes and villains. In this way, Netease is allowed to keep its creative juices flow by designing “new” characters, while Hardcore fans still see the ones they know and love adapted, just in a more experimental way. While Netease could certainly still prove me wrong and release a new hero or villain without tape to the existing Marvel universe, Dizang has me much more optimistic about the concept of “original heroes.”
