After 4 years, One Piece introduces 3 new legendary devil fruits

With the story of One Piece Joining the final saga, Eiichiro Oda introduces one legendary Devil Fruit after another. The Elbaf arc alone has seen the introduction of quite a few of them. Four years ago in One Piece, the first true legendary Devil Fruit, that is Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, was officially revealed in Chapter 1044 of the Wano Country Arc.

Now, in Elbaf, specifically its climax, which is currently underway, Eiichiro Oda has revealed 3 new legendary Devil Fruits and set up more legendary fruits to be revealed later, which we absolutely cannot wait to see. These fruits are Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr and Akuma no Mi.

4 Years After Nika, One Piece Reveals Nidhoggr, Akuma and Ratatoskr Devil Fruits in Elbaf Arc Climax

One Piece's the first real Legendary Devil Fruit reveal came in Chapter 1044, which was officially released in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #17 on March 28, 2022. In this chapter, the Five Elders officially stated that the name of Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, was changed to Gomu Gomu no Mi to prevent its full potential. In reality, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika is a legendary Devil Fruit that, when awakened, gives one the power of the Sun God Nika and transforms them into warriors of liberation.

Luffy has since upgraded his strength tremendously, and his awakening, which he calls Gear 5 and the pinnacle of his powers, allowed him to overwhelm even the likes of Kaido in battle. In Egghead, Luffy was able to flash past Robb Lucci and even overwhelm Admiral Kizaru quite easily. Clearly, Eiichiro Oda used Luffy as an example to show how powerful legendary Devil Fruits really are.

Now, in the Elbaf arc, the creator of One Piece has officially introduced 3 more legendary Devil Fruits, the first of which was Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, officially introduced in One Piece chapter 1175 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #14 on March 2, 2026. Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr was protected at the Lokicently it event 14 years ago. Nidhoggr is officially called to be legendary and gives the power of a giant black dragon known to be the most enormous in the world. This giant black dragon can also manipulate lightning on a scale that can destroy the entire world, making it a phenomenal force of nature that hardly anyone can compete with in battle. The Nidhoggr Devil Fruit was previously used by the Warrior God of Elbaf, making it not only a legendary Devil Fruit, but also a God Devil Fruit.

After Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, Eiichiro Oda also showed the power of Akuma no Mi or The Devil's Fruit, which belongs to Nerona Imu. The Devil's Fruit made its debut in One Piece Chapter 1179, which was released on April 5, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #19. This Devil Fruit is implied to be the most powerful in the world of One Piece, as it gives Imu the ability to become the Devil God himself and use two main powers:

1. Lordship of God, which allows him to make or force contracts on people or turn them into his slave soldiers with abilities like Domi Reversi.

2. Omen or Maki, which is a black flame that gives Imu tremendous offensive and defensive abilities in battle.

Finally, there is Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, which is also officially classified as a legendary Devil Fruit, as confirmed in One Piece Chapter #1182, released on May 10, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #24. This Devil Fruit is wielded by none other than Ragnir, the Hammer of the former warrior god of Elbaf, who was implied to have been killed by Nerona Imu long ago. After the warrior god's death, the ice squirrel Ratatoskr's soul resided in his hammer, Ragnir, and from then on he guarded the devil fruit until Loki eventually ate it. Now, Ragnir fights alongside Loki, further amplifying his already immense lightning powers, which was clearly seen in the epic clash between him and Nerona Imu.

Why the Elbaf Final is a battle between gods bearing legendary devil fruits

Obviously, Elbaf's climax is a battle between gods who wield all sorts of legendary and divine powers. At the moment, Loki, who wields the power of Elbaf's war god, clashes with the devil god Nerona Imu, and with him is the legendary squirrel, Ratatoskr. Ratatoskr also wields immense powers and is strong enough to compete with a Yonko on his own.

Then there is Monkey D. Luffy, who is currently consuming inordinate amounts of food as he aims to replenish enough energy before going into battle against Imu. These four god-level characters go all out in the climax of the Elbaf arc, making for one of the most incredible battles in the entire story, and we absolutely can't wait to see where it ends.

One Piece also lines up a potential rain god Zaza Devil Fruit

Meanwhile, it must be said that Eiichiro Oda is also lining up other legendary Devil Fruits to be revealed after the completion of the Elbaf arc, the first of which is Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Zaza. This Devil Fruit was officially set up in One Piece Chapter #1182 on May 10, 2026 by none other than Saint Killingham. Killingham confirmed that, along with the sun god Nika, the celestial dragons fear the rain god Zaza due to his ability to manipulate rain and dump water on top of one's head. All the celestial dragons are afraid of the people of D., the Sun God Nika and finally the Rain God Zaza. This means that, like Nika, this Devil Fruit is either in someone in One Piece's world or waiting to be eaten by someone else.

Alongside Zaza, there is also the Forest God and Earth God in the world of One Piece, although it is unclear who has these abilities at this time. In time, these other legendary Devil Fruits will also be revealed by the author, and we can't wait to see the characters who have these abilities at their disposal and what kind of role they will play later in the story.
