This new arc in the series is already becoming phenomenal, but what makes it even more exciting is that with this arc we finally have a return window for one of the most important characters in the overall franchise, Sasuke Uchiha. For three years, fans of the story have been eagerly awaiting the return of Sasuke Uchiha in the story, and now this return is just a few chapters away, which is incredible news for all readers, and at the same time, amazing for Sasuke's character.
Boruto's new arc focusing on Hidari officially sets up a 2027 return for Sasuke Uchiha
Boruto's Mamushi arc ended on April 20, 2026, i Two blue Vortexes Chapter #33 of V-Jump Issue #6. When the Mamushi arc ends, only two Shinju remain, they are Jura and Hidari. Considering Jura is the strongest of them all, it's no surprise to know that Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto save him in the end and that next in line to get all the focus from the author is none other than Hidari.V-Jump
As we know, Hidari is the Shinju clone of none other than Sasuke Uchiha. He made his debut in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 4 on November 14, 2026 and November 20, 2023, in V-jump Problem #1. In the subsequent Chapter 5 of Two Blue Vortex, which was released on December 20, 2023, Mikio Ikemoto showed us how Sasuke Uchiha was taken down by Code. Claw Grimes eventually biting him led to the birth of Hidari.

IN Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #35, released on June 18, 2026, saw the bond between Jura and Hidari grow. The former clearly stated that he would feel immense sadness if he were to live in a world without Hidari. This is a clear setup for Hidari's death and growth for Jura through this huge loss. Finally, Jura will understand love, but the price to pay will be Hidari's life. This means that the Thorn Soul Bulb of Hidari will be released soon, creating a massive return for Sasuke Uchiha after three long years of waiting.

Hidari's Thorn Soul Bulb will officially lead to Sasuke's return to the action
IN Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 12, the concept of Thorn Soul Bulbs was introduced to us. The Thorn Soul Bulb of a Shinju carries the essence of the mother body. Once a Shinju is defeated, the Thorn Soul can be obtained, and when taken to the tree and lowered into it, the parent body can finally be freed. As such, in order for Sasuke Uchiha to return, Hidari must be defeated, and the Thorn Soul Bulb must be obtained.

With the new arc now officially set to focus on the bond between Jura and Hidari and the latter's eventual fall, it has officially set up the return of Sasuke Uchiha after three long years of waiting, which we're eager to see at this point. Immediately after Hidari goes down, Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha will probably take the Thorn Soul Bulb, go to the tree where Sasuke is and press the Thorn Soul Bulb. This will see the Uchiha finally return after his absence from the series ever since Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5, where he only appeared in a brief flashback showcasing his fight against Code.
Coming over to arc lengths in Boruto, most arcs range from 8 to 10 chapters. Boruto's The Return Arc is the longest, spanning 15 chapters of the story. This means that at most, based on the data we currently have, this arc will span 15 chapters, which is 15 months worth of content. On average, one Boruto the arc lasts about 10 chapters, and taking everything into account, Sasuke Uchiha's return period falls between 10 and 15 months. As such, a return for Sasuke in 2027 is practically confirmed, and we eagerly await to see the legendary Uchiha make a comeback in history and influence the plot in his own ways.

Why Hidari's death will finally make Jura even stronger
With Sasuke's comeback already set for 2027, we're incredibly excited about major plot developments in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, and one of them is Jura's massive growth in terms of power after the loss of Hidari. IN Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #35, Jura and Hidari reunited for the very first time. Hidari fed his curiosity with every bit of information he could find and began to understand people more. Jura, on the other hand, finally began to understand feelings of sadness, loss and love. This is one of the most important things that he seeks answers to, and when Hidari dies, which is only a matter of time, Jura will experience this immense sadness that he spoke of on June 18, 2026.
Hidari: You could have collected their Thorn Soul Bulb if you wanted to, so why didn't you? Or rather, why did you take me back?
Jura: Good question. I never thought about the question, but right now, trying to imagine a world without you in it, I experienced feelings of sadness.

Jura's immense grief will only lead to grief, and grief will lead to a major power upgrade for him, which has been the theme of the story thus far. Jura has clearly seen Himawari Uzumaki step up in power as a result of grief. Similarly, Boruto Uzumaki also grew stronger due to the desire to protect those around him, and Sarada Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan Ohirume's powers also stem directly from grief and loss.
Jura is well aware that grief and loss are used as a way to strengthen someone, and the same thing will happen to him, making him the ultimate antagonist to Boruto series, which is something we absolutely cannot wait to see. With Sasuke's return already at that point, the Uchiha will have to lead the next generation of shinobi in battle against an absolute monster and in the process deliver one of the biggest fights in the entire franchise.
