DreadOut: Act 2 Candle Puzzle Solution
This light puzzle in DreadOut solved by lighting the three blue lights behind the dancing woman and then taking a picture of them. This is a multi-part process, and here are the steps players should take:
Light candle #1
To light the first candle, players should pass through an opening in one fence on the left side of the cave. There's a small alcove beyond that fence, and indie horror fans should make their way to the far side and then face the fence. From this position, players will see one snake on top of a nearby boulder, a figure with crossed arms near the fence, and two wings extending from the fence.
The goal now is to take a photo where the snake appears to be wrapped around the figure and the two wings appear to extend from it. The image above shows an angle that players should replicate, and a detailed photo will flash on the screen once an appropriate shot has been taken.
Players should now look towards small statue to their right, and they will find that the light near it is lit. Fans of horror games with female protagonists should approach that light and shoot it with the SLR camera to extinguish it and make the first light in the puzzle light up.
Light candle #2
Players should now transition to right side of the cave. Here fans will find a small path that can be used to enter yet another alcove, and there is one pile of stones near a tree in its center. A Keris is stuck in these rocks, and players can remove it with the interaction input.
After taking out Keris, players should approach nearby statue and pull out the SLR camera. Fans of games that Fatal Frame must then photograph the newly lit candle standing in front of the statue to extinguish it and light a second candle in the puzzle.
Light candle #3
Players should now navigate to back right corner of the cave. Here fans find a black cat and some green ferns which blocks the way. Players can remove these ferns by standing directly next to them and using SLR camera flash.
To use the SLR's flash, players should press the flash input when Linda is holding the camera, not as she looks through its viewfinder to take a picture. The flash input can be learned by opening the inventory menu, selecting the SLR camera under the equipment tab and reading its description.
With the ferns removed, players should follow the path to reach a dead end created by some fallen trees. There is an illuminated light in the alcove beyond these trees, and fans should pull out the SLR, zoom on the candle and take a photo to turn it off and light the third candle in the puzzle.
The zoom inputs can be learned by opening the inventory menu, selecting the SLR camera under the equipment tab and reading its description.
Photograph the Three Candle Puzzle
The cave should now be dark, and the players should return to the three candle puzzleusing the SLR's flash to light the way if needed. Fans should then position themselves in front of the three lights, pull out the SLR and take a photo of the lights. This photo should extinguish all three candles and open a path behind them. If that path has not been opened, players should match the photo angle shown in the image above and take another shot.
