What is Nightmare Echoes?

Nightmare Crownless in Wuthering Waves

A Nightmare Echo is basically an alternate variant of the regular Echoes in WooWa dropped by Overlord-class enemies (otherwise known as 4-cost Echoes). Nightmare versions has various active skills and gives a percentage elemental damage boost — The latter bonus alone already makes them more valuable than a standard Echo. Since they provide elemental damage passively, Nightmare Echoes can be used in place of a 3-cost Echo and enable a 441111 Echo composition.

It's worth noting that Nightmare Echoes also have the same Sonata/Set effects as their regular versions, meaning you won't need to make any significant changes to your character builds.
