Dragon Ball Z and all its iterations are as popular as ever, and though there's never a bad time to be one Dragon Ball heck, the next 18 months is looking like a particularly good run for the franchise. From Dragon Ball Super anime to new DBZ game release, the end of 2026 and the whole year of 2027 looks good.
It should be noted that not everything is set in stone and everything can change between now and the end of 2027, but with roughly 18 months between now and then, it's worth taking a look at what Dragon Ball fans can expect in the coming months.

No matter what, Dragon Ball's anime and manga remain the heart of the IP. Nothing else would exist without it, and in the fall of 2026, fans get to return to the first one Dragon Ball Super story arc/DBZ movie about Beerus, the fan's first God of Destruction. A remake is scheduled to be released this fall, while Dragon Ball Super's Moro Saga (also known as the Galactic Patrol arc) has an anime adaptation in production. It is expected to be released in the near to long future.
Finally, of course Dragon Ball Super manga has been on indefinite hiatus since the passing of Akira Toriyama and the completion of the Super Hero arc. Artist Toyotaro has confirmed Dragon Ball Super manga series will continue, even teasing its return, suggesting that will also happen in the near future.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is getting Neo DLC on July 30th

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 will be released in 2027
However, the biggest version of video games is Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 year 2027. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was a success release throughout the franchise, but especially among video games, where it was supported for nearly a decade. Now a sequel is coming, and fans can expect to learn more in the fall of 2026 and early 2027. It wouldn't be surprising to Xenoverse 3 to release in early 2027, but fans can expect a sequel to the beloved DBZ the game of 2027 without a doubt.

Dragon Ball Z has a vibrant mobile gaming community, and if someone isn't a part of it yet, they should be. It's as vibrant, if not more, than any other anime community in the industry. Fans should expect big releases for each of these games, even though they are a very specific niche within the franchise. Cell Max is coming back DBZ Dokan Battle and the upcoming release of Jiren i Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra set the tone for the next 18 months.
Where is Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot 2?
Good things come in threes. With three updates to the anime/manga portion of the IP and three major mobile games, it's very noticeable that fans are only aware of two major game updates (although Sparking Zero will likely continue to receive support afterwards). Many fans have been expecting publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment to announce a real one Dragon Ball Super: Kakarot or some sort of sequel to the franchise's open world RPG. After all, it gives players a third major arm, the open-world RPG, to engage in competitive battles in Kicking Zero and the unique storytelling/CAC i Xenoverse 3. There is no confirmation that another DBZ Kakarot the game is in development, but it certainly wouldn't be surprising if it was announced, if not released, in the next 18 months.
