The concept of Taijutsu was first introduced in Naruto franchise in Naruto Chapter #5 on October 26, 1999 and expanded when Rock Lee's character was thrust into the spotlight in Naruto Chapter #36, 26 years ago. Since then, Taijutsu has become a staple of Naruto's fighting system. In it Boruto Taijutsu is more important than ever before, and this is because there are certain characters with the ability to absorb all forms of ninjutsu, and genjutsu is practically irrelevant in the story.
Taijutsu can make or break an individual in a powerful fight, and with such renewed importance given to it, it is no surprise to know that Boruto has officially chosen his new god Taijutsu. While Might Guy and Rock Lee were always on top as some of the most powerful Taijutsu users, Boruto has seen to it that both of them have been surpassed by none other than Konoha's Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki, who has reached an unparalleled peak when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, whose true nature was shown in his clashushi against Issuushi: Naruto Next Generations Chapters #52 in V-jump Number 1 on November 20, 2020.
Naruto Uzumaki surpassed Might Guy and Rock Lee as the new God of Taijutsu in the Boruto era
During the Naruto era, Might Guy was quite famous for being the strongest user of Taijutsu. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Guy used the abilities of the Eight Inner Gates on several occasions, such as when he defeated Kisame in Naruto Chapter #506 on September 6, 2010, and later, when he fought Madara Uchiha in Naruto chapter 669 on March 19, 2014. By unlocking all eight gates, Madara Might Guy reached a level that was difficult for anyone to match. Even the 10 Tails Jinchuriki, Madara Uchiha, struggled to handle him and his strongest attacks, such as Night Guy, which was so powerful that it began to bend the space around him in Naruto Chapter #672, which is an amazing feat for anyone to achieve when it comes to Taijutsu.
“The Right Inner Gates Formation is a technique that removes the Limiters on your powers and takes them to the extreme limits. When you release all the Limiters, your power increases tenfold over tenfold, even beyond the Five Kage.” — Kakashi Hatake Explains the Proper Inner Gates, Naruto Chapter #669
While Might Guy was incredibly powerful, his career ended after his fight with Madara Uchiha, and as such he was greatly weakened. That said, during the Boruto era, Rock Lee grew to master all eight gates, including the gate of death, surpassing Might Guy. Even so, he is not the strongest Taijutsu user in the current era. The God of Taijutsu is none other than Naruto Uzumaki, the Seventh Hokage, who surpassed them all. With the powers of the Six Paths, Naruto Uzumaki reached such a level with Taijutsu that he left everyone else in the dust, and this was evident during his various clashes against Otsutsuki.

Boruto officially puts up the new strongest Mangekyo Sharingan ability
The Mangekyo Sharingan is a powerful Uchiha ability, and it is officially upgraded in terms of power in Boruto.
Naruto's Baryon Mode Taijutsu surpasses all Otsutsuki
Naruto Uzumaki's declaration as the God of Taijutsu was first evident in The Last: Naruto the Movie, where he took on Toneri Otsutsuki in 2014. In this sensational battle, Naruto was forced to rely primarily on Taijutsu, and his final blow against Toneri was so powerful that it essentially shattered the moon's crust. Naruto also managed to tank a sword slash that split the entire moon in half, showing off his immense durability and stamina in battle and even putting him above Guy in terms of physicality. Naruto Uzumaki then fought the fused Momoshiki Otsutsuki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 9 on January 30, 2017. Much to the surprise of all fans, Naruto was able to fight him even in his base form. Once he harnessed the power of the Six Path's Sage Mode, he was not only able to match him, but he even managed to overpower him in terms of Taijutsu, which was clearly evident from the chapter.
Naruto: No, you're not a person. You are just a monster.
Momoshiki: If you're talking about monsters, that makes two of us.
— Momoshiki complements Naruto's power, Boruto Chapter 8
While all of this was impressive enough on its own to establish Naruto as the God of Taijutsu over Guy and Lee, what really sealed the deal was Naruto Uzumaki harnessing the power of Baryon Mode in the Isshiki arc. In this particular battle, which began playing out in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 52 in V-Jump Issue #1 on November 20, 2020, Naruto Uzumaki used his own chakra and combined it with Kurama's to give rise to a new form of energy in a process similar to nuclear fusion. Using this power, Naruto's strength soared to a level even above Isshiki, making him the strongest mortal that existed in the entire universe, surpassed only by Shibai Otsutsuki.
“Amazing!! With this new power they are even. No, Naruto actually beats him!!” — Sasuke Uchiha confirms Naruto's Taijutsu skills rank above Isshiki Otsutsuki, Boruto Chapter #52
When using Baryon Mode, Naruto mainly relied on hand-to-hand combat in the battle against Isshiki, and the level he displayed was such that even this legendary Otsutsuki, who surpassed almost every character in the verse, could not even scratch him. Naruto's Taijutsu was incredibly effective, and this battle, which was officially concluded in Boruto: Naruto Next Generation Chapter #53, in December 2020, declared the Seventh Hokage as the God of Taijutsu.

Why Naruto's Taijutsu Without Six Paths Powers Is Still The Strongest Among Shinobi
Unfortunately, i Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter #55, the Seventh Hokage officially lost access to the power of Kurama. Without this power, he is unable to utilize his strongest abilities anymore, meaning that his Taijutsu skills have now deteriorated tremendously. That said, Naruto is not to be underestimated when it comes to Taijutsu. In the fight against Momoshiki, Naruto showed enough skill to hold his own against Otsutsuki without even entering Sage Mode, a feat that hardly anyone in the world can match.
“Be good Naruto. And don't follow me into death right after.” — Kurama says goodbye to Naruto Uzumaki after death, Boruto Chapter #55
What's more, Naruto Uzumaki is already in line to get significant power-ups when he returns in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. This was confirmed in Boruto Volume #8, June 4, 2026, where Mikio Ikemoto, the creator of the series, said that Sasuke Uchiha had grown incredibly strong during the time jump by training with Boruto Uzumaki. He reached a level where he could deliver past damage to Code, which was clearly seen in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #5 on December 20, 2023. This then means that Naruto Uzumaki, Konoha's Seventh Hokage, will gain significant strength as well when he returns.
Currently, Naruto Uzumaki's return is not close as the series focuses on bringing back Sasuke in the new arc, which officially began on May 20, 2026, in V-Jump Issue #7. With Sasuke's return, Naruto Uzumaki may return as well, and when he does, his new power-ups will once again establish him at the top as the God of Taijutsu.
