Fortnite is notorious for having a well-informed leak community, which over the years has meant that anything Epic planned to add to the game was revealed in advance by anonymous social media accounts.
This isn't ideal for anyone, and we've seen some publishers take steps to root out leaks. In a post on social media earlier this year, Epic accused former Fortnite associate producer Hayden Cohen of being responsible for several major leaks.
Epic settles with Fortnite leaker
“Today we took legal action against a former contractor who repeatedly leaked confidential partner IP and trade secrets they received while working with Epic. We absolutely do not allow this and will continue to take action when Epic team members share confidential information. It hurts our partners and makes it harder to get great IP for our games,” the post said.
The lawsuit accused Cohen of running an account called AdiraFN, an alias known for posting reliable Fortnite leaks. This account leaked several upcoming Fortnite collaborations, including South Park, Minecraft, and Overwatch.
The case is now settled. According to Game File, both parties consent to a judgment that prohibits Cohen from “possessing, accessing, using or disclosing any of Epic's confidential or trade secret information.”

Fortnite Insider Who Leaked Kingdom Hearts, Minecraft and More Is Sued by Epic
Notorious Fortnite leaker AdiraFNInfo has been outed, and it looks like their leaks were legit.
In a statement provided to Game File, Epic spokesperson Natalie Munoz said, “We took legal action against the former contractor who repeatedly leaked confidential partner IP and trade secrets they obtained while working with Epic. We have asked the court to grant the injunction to ensure they cannot publish or share Epic's confidential information again.”
The settlement does not appear to include any compensation paid to Epic, and a spokesperson for the company did not comment on a question from Game File on the subject.
It's unclear exactly what Cohen's motive was for leaking his employer's secrets, but the initial filing suggests the former Epic producer did it for “influence” and to increase his social media following.
Why anyone would risk their career and criminal charges to increase the number of followers on an anonymous social media account is beyond me, but I have no doubt that people are capable of making such hasty decisions.
