How to make pots in Solarpunk

In the research contribution Decorative plates & pots and pans in Solarpunkit is said that, in addition to “Pans”, players will also unlock the ability to craft “Pots” and “Plates” if they complete the research.

In Solarpunk, solar panels are one of the very first energy sources that players can research and unlock. This is how they work.

How to unlock pots in Solarpunk

Making pots in Solarpunkyou must first investigate Decorative plates & pots and pans at a Level 6 Research Table. You will need the following materials to unlock this recipe:

Iron x2
Brick x1
Stick x1

Bricks can be made by melting clay in a furnace. You can get Clay as a byproduct when you mine other ores, or you can mine the permanent Clay patch on the large sky island northwest of the starting island, available after you unlock Airship level 4 (Airship Upgrade 3).

Similar, Iron can be obtained by smelting iron ore in a furnace, with a permanent iron ore node on the starting island. As for sticks, you can simply turn 1 wood into 2 sticks via inventory or at a crafting table.

How to craft pots in Solarpunk

Pots can be crafted at a crafting table under the Decorations tab, as a alternative recipe for the post titled “Panera”. Pans, Pots, and Plates all share the same entry in the Crafting menu, which is the source of the confusion surrounding this topic.

To create a pot, here's what you need to do:

Interact with a crafting table.
Go to the Decorations tab.
Select Pan.
Click on second icon under Options to select Decorative pot.
Click Craft to make a decorative pot.

If you want to make plates instead, simply repeat the steps above, but select the third icon instead of the second.

How to use pots in Solarpunk

Pots cannot be used for cooking Solarpunk; they are purely decorative objects without any real function. They are meant to be placed somewhere like the kitchen, where they can look aesthetically pleasing. They can be placed on top of other tables, such as picnic tables and shelves, to give your base a living feel.
