New Official Invincible Release Confirmed for July 30th

A brand new, officially licensed Invincible tabletop RPG will be released on July 30, 2026. Title Invincible: Superhero RPGthe starter pack for this upcoming tabletop RPG will retail for $29.99 and will include everything fans need to dive in and play with their friends.

Debuted in January 2003, Invincible is a comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Ryan Ottley and Cory Walker. The series revolves around the titular superhero who fights to defend Earth against a host of powerful otherworldly enemies. The main line Invincible the game series ended in February 2018, but the series was revived in March 2021 when an animated adaptation hit Amazon Prime. Amazon's Invincible the show has continued to receive rave reviews from critics and already has a fifth season in active development.

Invincible: Superhero RPG was announced in early September 2025 and then officially launched on Kickstarter later that month. The officially licensed tabletop RPG reached its seed funding goal in just 30 minutes, and as of October 16, 2025, the project had raised a total of SEK 3,823,373, which is roughly $407,000 USD.

This upcoming tabletop game builds its superhero action around the Year Zero Engine, a system originally developed for Mutant: Year Zero. For the unaware, the Year Zero Engine mainly revolves around a pool of D6s, a set of primary attributes, and a broader set of skills. IN Invincible: Superhero RPGplayers will also have access to a unique set of “Powers & Boosts” that grant special abilities such as flight and increased armor, as well as a set of special “Talents & Drawbacks” that offer additional gameplay bonuses and scope for role-playing.

On July 30, 2026, fans will be able to pick one up Invincible: Superhero RPG Table Top Retailer Starter Kit for $29.99. This set will include six pre-made character sheets, including iconic comic heroes such as Invincible, Atom Eve, Monster Girl and Rex Splode. A double-sided plot map will also be included, along with standing figures for cardboard characters. A set of initiative cards, some custom D6 dice, and a three-part “Metro Mayhem” introductory adventure round out the starter set's contents.

Invincible: Superhero RPG is developed by Free League Publishing, a Stockholm-based company that has been creating acclaimed tabletop experiences since 2011. On the RPG side, Free League has produced reputable games based on Foreign, The Lord of the Rings, Blade Runnerand The Walking Deadanother Robert Kirkman-written universe. Free League has also created a handful of board games, including an officially licensed one Crusader Kings board game.
