7 Strongest Berserk Saiyans, Ranked

The Saiyans are a powerful warrior race that can surpass their limits. Their potential scared Frieza so much that he destroyed Planet Vegeta in Dragon Balls backstory, so no Saiyan could ever become strong enough to dethrone him by becoming a Super Saiyan. Pure-blooded Saiyans have a deep love of battle that causes them to seek out stronger enemies like a barbarian. Saiyans are also quick to anger and gain a power boost from their anger that they can usually control – usually.

Many Saiyans have lost control of their minds throughout Dragon Ball history, but only a few have gone so far as to go berserk. Berserk Saiyans are absolute beasts that can be destructive on a level that can destroy Dragon Ball multiverse if unchecked. Some of the strongest Saiyans have reached new heights by going berserk, whether they wanted to or not.

Honorable Mention: Super Saiyan Rage Future Trunks is basically a Berserk Form

Super Saiyan Rage is a version of Super Saiyan Blue that Future Trunks unlocked at the end of the Goku Black Saga Dragon Ball Super anime. As the name suggests, Super Saiyan Rage is an anger-induced transformation similar to when a Saiyan goes berserk. Future Trunks' eyes even turn completely white when they trigger the form, which is the main sign of a Saiyan going berserk. That said, Future Trunks quickly gains control of Super Saiyan Rage.

In it Dragon Ball Super anime, Super Saiyan Rage Future Trunks is fast enough and strong enough to cut Fused Zamasu in half with his Sword of Hope. If Zamasu wasn't invincible, Trunks would have killed him then and there. Future Trunks later returns Super Dragon Ball Heroes like CC Future Trunks. CC Trunks can still use Super Saiyan Rage and triggers the form whenever he wants. While he isn't technically a berserk Saiyan since he totally loses control, Super Saiyan Rage is basically Trunks' version of a berserk form.

Honorable Mention: Gohan Beast is the culmination of Gohan's Berserker Tendencies

Gohan was the OG berserk Saiyan back in Dragon Ball Z. Growing up, Gohan could neither control his anger nor his full power. Gohan's very first display of power on Dragon Ball manga breaks free from Raditz's space pod, raising his power level to a whopping 1,307 and seriously injuring Raditz. Gohan's anger comes back during the fight with Vegeta, when he fights Frieza, and finally as his trigger to unlock Super Saiyan 2 against Perfect Cell.

While not technically a berserk transformation, Gohan's Beast form is rooted in Gohan's past as a berserker. Piccolo helps Gohan unlock the form by feigning death against Cell Max to trigger Gohan's anger. Beast brings all of Gohan's raw power to the surface and gives him an extra boost, almost like a supercharged version of his Ultimate form. However, unlike when he was a child, Gohan has complete control over his Beast power and does not go completely berserk.

Broly, Vegeta, GOku and Gohan

It's the end of an era for Dragon Ball's strongest Saiyans

When the Dragon Ball Super manga finally returns for the Black Frieza Saga, Goku and Vegeta will no longer be the strongest Saiyans in the series.

Kale was Dragon Ball's first Canon Berserk Legendary Super Saiyan

Legendary Super Saiyan Kale

Dragon Ball Z's Broly was the original legendary Super Saiyan, but the concept wasn't made canon until Kale's introduction in Dragon Ball Supers Universe Survival Saga. Universe 6's legendary Super Saiyan and counterpart to Broly, Kale is a shy, quiet woman who hides an unfathomable level of power. In both the anime and manga, she becomes one of the most powerful fighters in the Tournament of Power when she triggers her legendary Super Saiyan form and goes berserk.

Legendary Super Saiyan Kale becomes an extremely dangerous opponent once she goes berserk. In it Dragon Ball Super anime, she destroys Super Saiyan Blue Goku when they fight and can only be stopped by Jiren. In it Dragon Ball Super manga, Kale single-handedly eliminates multiple universes and even knocks out some of her own teammates due to being so deep in her berserk state. The only way to stop her is by forcing a fusion between her and Caulifla, which luckily results in a calm & collected Kefla.

Legendary Super Saiyan Broly went berserk and could have beaten Gogeta

Goku and Vegeta fight Broly

Dragon Ball Supers version of Broly is somehow even more powerful than his DBZ equivalent. Both versions of Broly have trouble controlling their full power and go berserk at the drop of a hat, but DBS Broly is simply on another level in terms of power. In his base form, Broly can use his Wrathful form to pull out his Great Ape multiplier without transforming. Broly's mental state is so weak that just turning into a Super Saiyan causes him to lose his grip on reality, while giving him an insane power boost.

Legendary Super Saiyan Broly is the most dangerous and powerful bearer in the Dragon Balls canon timeline, rapidly growing stronger the longer he fights while being far too powerful for Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta to battle. Even Gogeta struggles to fight LSSJ Broly until he turns Super Saiyan Blue. Interestingly, Broly going berserk is actually a major disadvantage of the form. According to Saiyko Jump, if Broly could harness the True Legendary Super Saiyan and control his full power, he would grow strong enough to beat Gogeta Blue.

3

Cumber is a powerful Berserk Ancient Saiyan & God Slayer

Cumber is an ancient saiyan from Super Dragon Ball Heroes and one of the most powerful Saiyans in history. Base Cumber has an even higher power level than base Broly from Dragon Ball Supercapable of fighting God of Destruction level opponents without transforming. Base Cumber is not only stronger than Super Saiyan God Goku, he is more powerful than Jiren. Cumber suffers from a corrupted version of Ki called “Evil Aura” that can infect others and cause him to go berserk.

To suppress his emotions and power, Cumber wears a massive face mask that holds him back. Even with a power limiter, however, the Cumber is incredibly powerful. At full power, Cumber was able to defeat Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Goku and Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Vegeta – two of the strongest versions in the multiverse. Cumber was even strong enough to fight Xeno Vegito and live, nearly beating him at several points during their battle.

CC Goku goes berserk when infected by evil aura

Super Saiyan Blue Berserk CC Goku

CC Goku is the strongest version of Goku in Dragon Ball multiverse, and one of the most overpowered anime characters of all time. CC Goku comes from a timeline where the Z-Fighters experienced the original Dragon Ball anime, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Superseveral non-canon films and Dragon Ball Super: Broly. CC Goku's power level is higher than even the gods from the main timeline – which is why he becomes so dangerous when he goes berserk.

After Fu infected him with Evil Aura in Super Dragon Ball Heroes' Universe Creation Saga, Super Saiyan Blue CC Goku becomes corrupted and goes out of control when he tries to attack Fu. This is one of two times that Goku is corrupted by the Evil Aura, as he is also infected by Cumber and turns into a weak Saiyan while using Super Saiyan 2, briefly turning him evil. It doesn't take long for CC Goku to lose his berserk mental state, but at full power, Berserk Super Saiyan Blue Goku can do serious damage and destroy the universe.

CC Vegeta is the only Saiyan who can fully control his Berserk form

Super Saiyan Blue Berserk CC Vegeta

Just like CC Goku, CC Vegeta is the most powerful version of Vegeta in Dragon Ball. Even without Ultra Ego, CC Vegeta is capable of feats his canon counterpart could never dream of. CC Vegeta ends up being infected by Fu along with CC Goku in the Universe Creation Saga, turning him into a mindless thug whose mastery of Super Saiyan Blue can destroy anything in his path. Interestingly, CC Vegeta manages to accomplish something that CC Goku never could: control his carrier form.

After being corrupted a second time while fighting Cumber and Turles in the New Space-Time War Saga, CC Vegeta manages to reject the call to become an evil saiyan, instead channeling all of his berserk energy inward. Doing so mutates CC Vegeta Berserk Super Saiyan Blue into a fully controlled version of the transformation that gives him a new aura and a massive power boost. In terms of power, Berserk Super Saiyan Blue (Controlled) proves to be as strong as CC Goku's version of the Ultra Instinct Sign, making it one of the strongest forms in the entire franchise.
