Offense is one of the most important endgame activities in the Path of Exile 2and it's one of the simpler ones too. Here, your only goal is to defeat as many Hiveborn monsters as possible before time runs out, then the elite Hiveborn that appear where you first started the mechanic. Wrap Breach monsters PoE 2 will yield rewards, including Wombgifts and Breach Splinters that you can use later at the Genesis Tree in the Monastery of the Keepers to get even more valuable loot.

Path of Exile 2: How to maintain roadblocks while mapping
Running out of Waystones during the endgame mapping phase is a fairly common occurrence in Path of Exile 2. Here's how to make sure you never run out.
How does hacking work in Path of Exile 2?
When you enter a map with the Breach mechanic active, you will come across some strange hands sprouting from the ground. Touch it, and a field begins to slowly expand out from the roots of the hands. As the field expands, another plane of reality will overlap the current one, and Hiveborn monsters will also begin to appear.
Once a Breach mechanic entered PoE 2 a bar will begin to appear on the screen. This represents how many Hiveborn monsters you need to kill to stabilize the breach, as well as the remaining time you have to do so. After filling the bar, the break will stabilize, and elite Hiveborn will appear where you first saw the Breach hand. Blow these guys up, and the Breach will collapse, and you'll receive a small shower of rewards for your efforts.
Breach Hives
When you enter a Breach Stronghold biome map you will encounter Breach Hives, small areas that have been completely overrun by the Hiveborn. After a certain point in the Breach questline with Ailith, you'll gain the power to burn down the walls around these Hives just by walking near them.
Here, you must reach the center of the Breach Hive and protect Ailith while she does her thing. Use the powers that appear around Ailith, and try not to be overwhelmed by the swarm.
Hive Fortress
Fortresses are essentially larger versions of Breach Hives that exist in their own maps instead of being randomly placed elsewhere. All you need to do to clear an encounter with the Hive Fortress is to reach the center of the fortress, protect Ailith against 20+ waves of Hiveborn and escape.

How to use Breachstones
Collect 300 Breach Splinters from Breach encounters to receive a Revelatory Womb gift. Use it on the Genesis Tree to get a Breachstone, which you must see Breach Strongholds featuring Breachlord boss battles.
You must have the Breachstone in your inventory to see the mounts on the Atlas map. If you can't see one even while the Breachstone is in your inventory, you'll have to explore the map until you find one. Use Precursor Towers to reveal large chunks of the map at once.
How to fight Xesht (Breach Pinnacle Boss)
To fight Xesht, you need to get a Breachsac from the Breachlord boss fightswhich is accessed via Breachstones. You'll also get to fight Xesht at the end of the Breach endgame mission. Take the Breachsac to the portal next to the Dreamer in the Monastery of the Keepers to open the way to the Twisted Domain, where you can fight Xesht.
You can buy Breachstones and Breachlord Sacs from other players via PoE 2's trading system.
Atlas Tablets may affect the parameters of intrusion events i PoE 2so keep an eye out for drops like Wraeclast Besieged if you want to get more out of these encounters.
PoE 2: Genesis Tree Guide
The Genesis Tree is where you get the real rewards of the Breach mechanic. Make your way to the Keepers Monastery, then interact with the Genesis Tree just up the stairs. Here, you can use the various types of Wombgifts that drop from Breach encounters and turn them into loot like currencies, amulets and Breach Catalysts.
Each time you turn a Wombgift into a reward, a bunch of related skill nodes will reveal themselves on the Genesis Tree. For example, if you give birth to a lavish Wombgift to get currencies, part of the currency branch of the Genesis Tree is opened. Invest Genesis Tree skill points in the branches you want to progress so you can unlock the later parts of the same branch.
Birthing Wombgifts require Hiveblood, which you can earn just by completing Breach encounters. Higher level Womb Gifts require more Hiveblood.
Rewards
Birthing Wombgifts at the Genesis Tree is how you can earn real money with the Breach mechanic in PoE 2. The rewards you can get from it include:
-
Currencies
-
Including rare ones like Divine Orbs and Perfect Jewelers Orbs
-
-
Jewelry
-
You can get special Breach-exclusive item base types, like belts with an implicit Lightning Damage to Attacks modifier, or rings that enhance the buffing effect of offering skills to minions.
-
-
Catalysts
-
These add quality modifiers to rings and amulets, enhancing specific affixes found on the items.
-
What rewards should you go after?
This depends on what you need, though if you just want to get rich, I recommend going all-in on the currency branch of the Genesis Tree. By unlocking the top and middle part of it, the tree can spawn Divine Orbs. Birthing Lavish Wombgifts in general is simply a great way to get currency like Exalted Orbs, Chaos Orbs, and T2/T3 crafting orbs. Personally, I mainly spent my Hiveblood on Lavish Wombgifts while leveling up PoE 2 league starter for the Runes of Aldur league.
You can technically make more money by selling rings and amulets that drop from the Genesis Tree, but you have to be very lucky or very knowledgeable about PoE 2's create systems to make money doing this.
If you're playing a caster- or minion-focused build, you might want to focus on getting rings and amulets from the Genesis Tree instead, as you can get items that synergize perfectly with the build here, like amulets with bonus Spirit or rings with spell modifiers.
Genesis Tree Skill Points
You can get Breach Genesis Tree Skill Points in PoE 2 just by spending Hiveblood and breeding the various Wombgifts. There seems to be a 10-15 point per branch limit on how many skill points you can get for the Genesis Tree, so you have to be careful where you spend those points. Thankfully, you can respect the Genesis Tree i PoE 2 free.
Genesis Tree Skill Points are different from Breach Atlas Passive Points. The latter affects the Breach mechanic as a whole, not just the Genesis Tree. You can get Breach Atlas Passive Points by completing Breach Maps on Atlas.
