7 strongest forms that rivaled Perfected Ultra Instinct, ranked

Ultra Instinct was set up as early as Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F. The ultimate technique of the angels, Ultra Instinct, allows the user to instinctively dodge and counter any attack that comes their way, while offering a massive increase in speed, defense and raw power when mastered. Goku finally unlocked Ultra Instinct when he fought Jiren in the Tournament of Power, but it wouldn't be long until Dragon Ball Super manga's Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga that he actually mastered the form.

Perfected Ultra Instinct is the strongest version of the UI, giving Goku power unlike any other transformation in the Dragon Ball franchise. Dragon Ball Super 2 will finally debut Perfected Ultra Instinct in its true form in the anime during Goku's final battle with Moro, but it won't take long for other characters to unlock transformations that bring them up to the level of PUI. Despite its name, Perfected Ultra Instinct is far from perfect, and more Dragon Ball Super characters now have unlocked forms that rival Goku's strongest stat.

Full Power Cerealian Granolah Almost killed PUI Goku

Granolah the Survivor Saga

Granolah is the last living Cerealian and uses Planet Cereal's Dragon Balls to summon the Eternal Dragon Toronbo and wish for ultimate power. By replacing most of his life force, Granolah becomes the strongest warrior in Universe 7, second only to the gods and angels. The downside is that he now only has three years left to live, but he is determined to use that time wisely. Granolah's wish raises his power level to astronomical heights, while also giving him access to techniques such as Hakai.

Once the arc begins in earnest and he begins fighting Goku, Granolah's body adapts to Perfected Ultra Instinct and awakens his Full Power Cerealian form. All Cerealians are born with an Evolved Right Eye that allows them to target any opponent's vitals. In his Full Power state, Granolah's left eye awakens, giving him even more deadly accuracy. Full Power Cerealian Granolah manages to surpass Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku and overpowers the form's reflexes to target Goku's vitals and nearly kill him.

In response to Granolah's wish for the Dragon Balls, Heeter's leader Elec heads to Cereal and makes his own wish for Toronbo. Instead of wanting power for himself, Elec wants to make his brother Gas the strongest being in the universe instead. Unlike Granolah's wish, which was a direct exchange of life for power, Elec's wish only makes Gas age and lose years of his life when someone surpasses him.

This means that Gas's body always adapts to his opponents' power levels (as long as they were in Universe 7 at the time of the wish, that is). By design, Awakened Gas will always be stronger than Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku. Every time Goku surpasses him, Gas will awaken to a higher level of power to catch up with Ultra Instinct's power. This is exactly what happens in Granolah the Survivor Saga, and why Black Frieza is ultimately the one to kill Gas once and for all.

Orange Piccolo is at the same level as Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

Piccolo had spent most of it Dragon Ball Super lagging behind the Saiyans, but he's finally caught up Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Another power-up granted by a wish for the Dragon Balls, Piccolo wishes for Shenron to unlock his full power and unlock his ultimate form. Along with this, Shenron gives Piccolo an extra bonus that ends up being one of Piccolo's strongest transformations: Orange Piccolo.

Akira Toriyama revealed that he introduced Orange Piccolo so that he could finally compete with Goku and Vegeta again. Toyotarou has since confirmed that Orange Piccolo is indeed at the same power level as Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta. It's unlikely that Piccolo will ever actually surpass Goku, but as of now Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103, they are meant to be more or less equal in strength.

Ultra Ego Vegeta has more potential than perfected Ultra Instinct

Granolah the Survivor Saga

Vegeta unlocked Ultra Ego in Granolah the Survivor Saga and finally caught up to Goku after he surpassed him during the Tournament of Power. Notably, Vegeta has only just unlocked Ultra Ego, but he already has more than enough power in the form to rival Perfected Ultra Instinct – a transformation that Goku has spent several arcs mastering.

Ultra Ego also makes Vegeta stronger the more damage he takes and the longer he fights, giving him unlimited potential compared to Perfected Ultra Instinct. If Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku spends too much time trying to avoid Ultra Ego's attacks, he will only make Vegeta stronger, making it worse for him if Vegeta lands a hit. When mastered, there is no doubt that Ultra Ego Vegeta will be stronger than Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku.

The true legendary Super Saiyan Broly is one of the most powerful characters in the series

At the end of Dragon Ball Super: BrolyBroly became one of the most powerful mortals in the multiverse. Unlocking his legendary Super Saiyan form, Broly became so strong that Goku and Vegeta needed to fuse into Gogeta just to fight him. Even then, Gogeta wasn't actually strong enough to beat Broly until he started using Super Saiyan Blue. Saikyo Jump actually revealed that Broly could have beaten Gogeta Blue if he unlocked the True Legendary Super Saiyan.

True Legendary Super Saiyan is the ultimate version of Broly's LSSJ form, giving him complete control over his final transformation. After Dragon Ball Super: BrolyBroly heads to Beerus' Planet to train with Goku and Vegeta so he can master his emotions. While fighting with Gohan Beast in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103, Broly finally learns how to fully utilize the True Legendary Super Saiyan, making him stronger than ever.

Gohan Beast has already beaten Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku

Gohan Beast has already been confirmed to be much stronger than Perfected Ultra Instinct. After Dragon Ball Super manga adaptation of Dragon Ball Super: Super Herothe story turns to an epilogue to the film. IN Dragon Ball Super Chapter 102, Gohan heads to Beerus' plane so he can spar with Goku. Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103 showcases Gohan Beast's battle with Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku.

While Goku ends up giving Gohan a good fight, his son's Beast form is simply too much for him. Gohan Beast ends up completely overpowering his father and knocking Goku out of Perfected Ultra Instinct. The fact that Goku couldn't use Perfected Ultra Instinct to avoid Gohan Beast's punch is proof of how much stronger Beast is than PUI. At the moment, Gohan Beast is currently the strongest Z-Fighter in the series and far more powerful than Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku.

Black Frieza is the ultimate transformation

The only mortal stronger than Gohan Beast right now is Black Frieza. Frieza revealed his latest transformation at the end of Granolah the Survivor Saga, where he effortlessly killed Awakened Gas with a single blow. Training for an entire decade in a hyperbolic time chamber he found while traveling in the multiverse, Frieza mutated his golden transformation into black, while also undergoing a massive increase in power.

It's still not clear how strong Black Frieza is, but he could very well compete with Beerus. Not only that, Black Frieza easily defeated Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta at the same time right after killing Gas. Frieza wasn't sweating much and was moving much faster than Ultra Instinct could react to. As it stands, there is no mortal in it Dragon Ball multiverse who has a chance against Black Frieza when Dragon Ball Super manga returns.
